icon management

or how to use the new icon image

i have a new icon i want to use for a shortcut on the desktop. but other than using the color i have not been able to . what is the procedure i can use to show on the desktop the one i want? i've set the properties, can see it has been chosen ok, but it is washed out by the personalization set up for icons on the desktop.

Right-click on the shortcut and select Properties. Then click "Change Icon" and "Browse..." in the dialog, and navigate to your new icon and select it.

thank you. yes i did that and because i had , in fences.  set with tick on for icon personalization, the colored hues overwrote my windows 11. In short the properties i had set up for a shortcut was overridden. But i solved the issue almost right after i posted, and so therefore i am sorry i didn't withdraw my query earlier. I thank you and appreciate your response!

be well,

not sure what you. mean here. if the colorization is a problem, please uncheck "Tint icons" in "Personalization", and/or include a screenshot to show what you're speaking of thank you
