Taskbar removal

Hi everybody,

I'm using object dock and I was wondering : is there a hack or registry key or something to do with Reshack for example to REMOVE taskbar without using a software ? As OD is very cool but slows my PC from time to time (my CPU is ridiculously slow), I wondereded if it was possible to obtain the same result (hidden taskbar)by "manual" means. Plz don't tell me "go to taskbar properties" I don't want the taskbar to pop up everytime ))))

You can also hide the taskbar with DesktopX. Just create a new theme, leave it empty (no objects) and then configure Desktopx to hide the taskbar. Should use very little resources

Hiding the taskbar by other means (other than "hide windows taskbar") in the ObjectDock properties, will not help your problem. ObjectDock consumes 0% CPU when it's just sitting there, but it does use some CPU when I'm hovering across it. How "rediculously slow" is your processor? Memory also is a big factor. No so much how much OD uses, but how much is available and how much time the system has to spend time swaping out to virtual memory. I've also seen several instances of various docklets (like a tray docklet) sucking up cycles when they're used.

shellTweak, part of the object desktop downloads, will remove your taskbar entirely. for how permenantly i'm not sure, that 'lil bugger still pops its head up from time to time.

objectdock and objectbar both also have an option in their general properties to remove the taskbar when those programs are loaded.
