I never installed SP2.. From anyone who has downloaded the update, I've heard [so far] nothing but bad news. This doesn't mean you will, not necessarily anyhow. I'm staying clear of it.

I've had no problems I don't know if it's revelent at all, but I had most of the regular updates so the SP2 Update itself was small.

I've installed SP2 on close to 50 machines and have had only 1 machine experience any problems. i felt bad about that because it was my younger brother's machine. i almost said 'little brother' but since he's 43, it just didn't sound right.

I had a few problems with SP2's new processes slowing down my computer a bit. And when downloading skins they didn't self install. Needless to say I don't have SP2 installed now.

Haven't had any trouble. I've installed it on two machines so far.

kona0197 - The issue with skins not auto installing works itself out after a few days. Don't ask me how, but I've installed SP2 several times to test this and it has done it every time.

The only plus for me is the pop-up blocker helps quite a bit, other than that, I don't see any great advantages to it.

SP2 works, no issues and works with all the software I was using prior to installing it. Like Ande....most of the updates were already in place on my machine SP2 was small and painless.

Yup, I didn't like the idea - but I updated on 2 different machines without any problems (I don't rely on XP to unzip for me though).

If it helps at all - it seemed to be good practice, when I did it, to return all the various skins, cursors, boot, login etc to default state and then install SP2 (return to preferred state after succesful loading of SP2) I also had to reboot a couple of times before bootskin settled in properly.

Also some have advocated clearing the prefetch files - I also went along this route shortly after installing SP2 if only to give it that spring clean feeling.

The only problem from SP2 i get is start up trying to use Bootskin program is impossible. Other than that i have a slightly slow download glitch from my computer. Can't figure out how to Optimize my Internet download? Can any of you nice folks help me with info or a link to inprove my downloading speed to it's full potentail?

I just finished (last week) a rollout of SP2 to over 200 systems with more soon to follow. Only two problems. One was an obsure, non-correctable problem during installation of SP2. Once the system was rebooted, it installed just fine. The other one was faulty hardware causing random reboots.

P.S. Kona - Glad to see you're still not letting me down j/k

No problems whatsoever here...

SP2 wasn't a problem for me....even the hijacking of the renamed zip file associations like wba, wsz, etc remained intact...though that could have been due to running LS as the shell and not Explorer....

No problems here. The ITO at work gave me a disk with the network version of SP2 (I don't have a network) to use, he said there were less issues reported with that version. I forgot to turn off WB before the install, but luckily no problems with that.
