ObjectDock Plus

Appearance!

I have downloaded and installed OD+ and which works fine. Have created 2 docks (one on the top and one on the right ) with corresponding icons. I have linked the icons with corresponding programs and everything is O.K.
The only thing I'm disturbed of is the appearance. For example if I open the Internet or any other program the docks and icons appear in the front which disturbs. This way I can't minimize or close the windows. I remember that in the normal version of OD the docks and icons appeared in the back of the windows and they came in the front only if you passed over with the mouse close to them! Can anybody tell me how to configure the OD+ so that the docks and icons appear in the back of opened windows.

Thanks in advance!

If I understood you correctly, you want the dock to not always be on top. If you go to your dock settings, under positioning, uncheck always on top, and uncheck tabs always on top when on edge.
Also if you want to define where on the screen you need to move the mouse and for how long check out the hotspots option. hope this helps.

Chinmon,

what I basically wanted to say:

Let's resume:
In the basis OD version (Freeware)you could create dock and position it on top/right/bottom/left resp. wherever you wanted. But you could create one dock only. To this dock you have added the corresponding icons which were linked with corresponding programs O.K.
So you started your PC and your desktop appears with tab and icons visible on top(position where I put the doks)and icons glew when you passed over with mouse.
So far O.K.! After I have opened any program, let's say internet, the internet window covered the tabs and icons and you couldn't see them. But after I passed over with the mouse on the top of the window the icons became visible again and is it as it should be.The tabs and icons shall be always on the back side of any opened window.

For OD+ I've created one dock (I'm talking about ordinary docks not about tabbed docks)on top and one on the right and have also added the corresponding icons related (linked) to corresponding programs. O.K.
I opened any program, let's say in this case also internet. Opened internet page has not covered in this case like in the basic version the tabs/icons. These are in the front of the window visible. If I wanted to acces the symbol tray on the top of the window the tabs cover the symbol tray and I dont have acces to the symbols resp. I can't close the window/minimize or resize it or anything on the symbol tray. Hope you understand!
What I want is to have is the tabs/icons when I open one window , on the backside of any opened window.

The settings as you have proposed are probably related to some other functions and which I can't find.
What I find in the positioning section are:
Top/Left/Right/Bottom (Autohide)
Alignment (Center/Left/Right)
Z-ordering (Always on top/Always on Bottom/Normal Z-Ordering)

I hope I could explain to you the problem properly as otherwise the OD+ is not usable.

Hope you can advise!

Badblueboy,

You're right, I described how to do this for a tabbed dock, im sorry I missunderstood you. I now have a question for you, have you tried changing the Z-Ordering to normal (or if the dock bothers you enough, and is unimportant enough Always on Bottom)? On my computer I have my Z-Ordering on normal and set to mouseover activation. This way i can see what I need to and get to what I need to without the dock getting in the way, I think this is more along the lines of what you are looking for.

Once again I hope this helps.

Usted debe poder encontrar y descargar both.of.these otros docklets de wincustomize.

English version:

I don't speak spanish well, so I am using google to translate this for you. I hope this works and is understandable . I also hope I can help you.

To better describe your answers I would need to know if you are using a tabbed dock or a zoomer dock. But I'll do my best without that and if you still need help then let me know.
1- I'm not sure if I understood this problem correctly, but what I think you said should be solved by adding a taskbar to the dock. This can be acheived in a tabbed dock by going to your dock options and under tabs and styles, clicking on 'add new tab' and then clicking on "add a new taskbar tab"
For a non-tabbed dock go to your dock properties, under 'dock contents' click on the box next to "show running tasks on the dock".
2- For this you have a couple of options, if I remember correctly there is a docklet you can download to control the volume of your computer, but I think that the best thing to do is to add a system tray to OD+. This is a similar process to adding a taskbar only in tabbed docks instead of clicking on add taskbar tab, click on add system tray tab. For a zoomer dock, you can only have a taskbar or a system tray for each dock. so if you plan on using zoomer docks, I recommend having two docks. To add a system tray tab you need to do the same thing as adding a taskbar, only instead of clicking the box next to show running tasks on the dock, click on the one next to show system tray on the dock.
3- I thing (from the google translation) that you want the ability to shut down or restart the computer from OD+. The best way I can think of, the way that I do this, is through a docklet. You can go here Link and download presStart, or get other docklets. There is one by andreasV which opens your start menu and gives you the same options you normally have when hitting start. There is another docklet similar to these by emmbi, but I have read that it does not work with windows xp sp2. You should be able to find and download both of these other docklets from wincustomize.
If you can't find the docklet or I did not solve your problems, let me know and I'll try to do so. Have a nice day
