Multiple Alias Problem

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone ran across this before. I had a typo in my original name and alias. I managed to find on this forum how to fix almost all of the instances of the mispelled name, but it still haunts me in one place. On the metaverse submission screen, I have 2 aliases - and the mispelled one shows up first. I just sent my game score to never-never land *grrr!* because I forgot to change to the "right" name. Is there any way to delete it? Is it in an ini file or something?

Thanks for your help,
Genghis Hank

Do you mean the name when you go to submit your score? If you do, I know what you mean. I had a problem with that earlier. I don't know how to delete it off that screen. If you don't mean that, then could you rephrase it, and I know someone here will try to help.
Glad to be of service.

To submit a game you have to use the same name you used to register the game with. to change that name you have re-register you game with the new name. You will lose all the games submitted under the previous name. You can also ask CariElf to change the name for you.

I'll try to be a little more precise. After you win the game, you go to 1) the animation for winning, 2) the screen that shows your scores and accomplishments, then 3) a screen that asks you if you want to submit this game to the metaverse. In the top right of this third screen, there is a place to select an alias. The name that comes up by default is spelled incorrectly. I have to remember to change it to the correctly spelled alias - the one that matches my name now. If I forget, it gets submitted as "Ginghis Hank", not "Genghis Hank", and I don't see it in my metaverse score. I want to delete "Ginghis Hank" so that "Genghis Hank" is the only name in the box. Failing that, I would like to set "Genghis Hank" as the default.

Hope that I did a better job explaining it this time,
G. Hank

step 1. open up regedit.exe
step 2. open entry "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Stardock\Drengin.net\Player"

you will see all your listed aliases

delete misspelled entry leaving the one('s) that you wish to leave active

hope this helps

Hey, cool thanks J.T. I didn't know that there was a way to do that. Thanks for help. Shout if you ever need anything else Genghis Hank. You will find the community willing to help. Also, you may want to join an empire. You will find the listing of them on the Metaverse page, and I find that it helps give a sense of community. Just look over the empires, and decide which one is best for you, if you want to join one.

That did the trick :D Guess it really does help knowing how to reprogram the simulation. May you never face the no win scenerio.

Thanks Again,
