converting older cursor files to cursorxp?

I just started learning about this cursor customization stuff today and was wondering if there's a way to convert older cursor files (.cur) to cursorxp compatible files. I'm actually using a different program, but it's compatible (to at least some extent) with cursorxp files. Any help please?
