Planetary managers

We could use those

I hope I haven't missed it somehow and this option is already there...

Anyway, after upgrading first ten planets as I see fit I'd like to be able to turn the new colonies to automanagement. I'd like them to be (usually) economy-wise upgraded in always the same order (extractors, trade port or refinery etc.).

When I'd want a planet to be upgraded in some other way I'd just not turn the planetary manager on. I guess military manager is just too much to ask because of the peculiar tastes and restricted possibilies around asteroids). But at least that usual - economical - one would be nice, the only options I'd like to have perhaps is whether to build a jump inhibitor or not and whether it would also be able to auto use planetary enhancements (logistical ones only if there is no military manager) or not.

There are two things that would IMO be neccessary to be added with the manager;
-an option to set lowest limits of money, metals and cristals before the managers stop using them (to have a ship building reserve)
-an option to put them all on hold (and off) globally when you are planning a huge attack that will demand as much resources as possible.

While in some ways this might be useful, in many more ways it would be difficult to implement and I don't think its ever going to happen. I sure as heck don't want to hand my building off to an AI subroutine, so at the very least they'd have to include some approach to customize the building order on the fly, which would likely be time consuming to implement, if not use. And it probably wouldn't place much of anything "right".

In short, maybe in an expansion.

I don't think so. It's a very straightforward system for basic planet development. It can only include like five or six structures/developments before it shuts down, just to get the planet started without checking on it every time I gather some change.

For instance; build extractors, build trade port (if available), build rafinery (if available).
Or with planet development; build extractors, build trade port (if available), build rafinery (if available), develop planet (that first planetary development, I forgot the name).

More or less everything else is too planet specific (location, endangerment, the need for fleet building capacity etc.) to be automanaged, but right now I need to come back to a strategicly insignificant planet five to six times to get individual structures built because I don't have the money to queue them all.

The planetary manager could also be custom so that you would be able to add structures like jump inhibitor and the likes.

Alternatively you could not have the automanager but would be able to queue the buildings/developments even when you don't have the dough ready - but you would still need the last two options I listed.

Yeah, well, its still not going to happen -- they've got a month and a half or so left, and thats not enough time for brand new features like this, alas. So, again, maybe in an expansion.
