Some nice cutscene here and there like in HomeWorld will be nice. I know you guys don't want to copy or repeat what others have done in the past, but if you look at how they play on that particular game you will find out that it add to the inmerssion of the gamer into the hisoory and plot of the game itself. cheers

rather than researching the Capital ship abilities, you could only end up researching the hull types. As the guns on some of them are also part of other defense systems like the gauss cannon, JRMs and their misiles vs the ones on the Dreadnoughts, etc. Varying only on strength on the capital ship vs. the one on the smaller ships.

I believe that in a way you do research for them. After all you do have to research for super structures. And their cost is high. But I have to admit, doing it like in HomeWorld will be kinda cool. cheers

what about having new weapons based on solar research items like how to reproduce the solar power like in spiderman 2 the movie. And then a kind of comando unit that can hack left over buildings instead of having them destroyed for you to rebuild then again. Such 'take over' will cost some money of course, but at least it will be less than rebuilding the unit itself and less time too.

Hi folks. Will it be possible to implement some kind of solar system protection? I mean after conquering all the planets on a given system it will be nice if one could place some kind of weapons or base at the entry point of a solar system (aka the son for that system). I know we can leave some ships there that will act as an early warning system but they do take fleet slots and could be of better use in real battles. cheers
