I totaly agree, noone would give you informations about his military... that is probably good idea, alot of people don't like tech tradeing at all, maby if only allies and races with "close" relations could trade (give you to see their) weapon tech, probably some of the others too... i think that other civilizations should be able to come to you (and other computers) and say: "i would like to buy weapons/armor from you" and you would de
I think that this tech tree is not big enough, i'm a technology guy even in other games...
yeah, thanks dude
when you click search, you must CLICK IT, not press enter...
how do you buy a ship from some company? that would mean that there are also factories and such stuff on your planets not only the ones that you own, and if som of those become pirates, hmmm...they would have all of your tech and stuff like that... What actualy happen when you buy a ship, who builds it? where are those guys that builds that ships i
Didn't get the game yet, but, for hotseat, can we start the game with option to already be allied with one of the other races? Do we see his homeworld (and) ships, or go to diplomacy screen and somehow press CTRL+Shift+Z in the first turn from there, or something like that? In most of cases of hotseat, I play with my friend(s) to kick computers ass anyways...<im
i think that on normal, the AI is not giving you all he can...
so, what you're saying is, defense doesn't get a roll, it have it's value and that's it??? that would mean that if i build ship 1/8 and fight versus ship that is 8/0, i will win and recieve no damage???
I've been thinking, bah, who cares anyways, as long as it's balanced...
i would make that if you attack the planet and use mass drivers; if you fail the attack, the mass drivers fail also, or something like that...
Japata, why would you set up a two-screen-on-the-same-computer kinda thing? It's turn based strategy, so you take your turn, he takes his turn, why would you need to look at your screen when it's not your turn? talon012754, in thread undocumented features, there is nothing about hotseat...<img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Mad.gif" border=0
Trade with minor civs, they are much more willing to trade (but not military stuff), you can also kick some minor civ's ass, do not kill them, just ask alot of tech for peace treaty...and then whipe them out... You must research most of the military stuff for yourself, computer is not willing to allow you to kick their arse with their own technology
why dont we see tree-like "treant" race? or some aquatics; make PQ the same for all and that's it; in moo3 i realy think that races that "liked" bigger planets were more powerfull than others... don't like moo3, but i like some of their races, parasitic beengs like harvesters and such...<img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Smile.gif" border=0 A
What about hotseat?
so what are they, turtles?
OK, just thought about it, and thinking in 2 dimensions: 1^2=1, so, with 1 sensor you sholud have normal range 2^2=4, so, with 4 sensors you shuld double the range (that's alot already, isn't it?) 7^2=49, hehe, in this case, 55 hull space ship could have 7 times more range than ship with one sensor? hehe, still too much? We can put the 3D calculations (space is 3D) where you would have 3.8 times more range with all 55 slots filled with s
i think that each next sensor module should add only a portion of sensor range or maybe something like this? Sensor should maybe have a power output, 4W antena does not have as twice as much range as 2W antena...
Geckomind, is that Starbuck as your avatar? Been watching it for days, thinking to myself: "is it or isn't it?" and when you put up a picture of a toaster , I think it is...
if it is like in galciv1, then you can click on their planet and klick on a button "speak to", if you realy want to... i personaly like to kick their arse before they realise it...
Well, I've been reading this forum so much in anticipation of playing this game, I invented some cheap solution of quick shipbuilding, without much screwing with ship builder screen, and i think that the first time i play, i will play: 1. tiny map, dificulty cakewalk 2. research all types of hull and that stuff 3. create 6 different cosmetic-only upgrades for each hull-type, save them all (they will all be MY invention! <img src="s
i just looked at the tech-tree pictures, and there are not very many tech's, what are you talking about? the tech-tree is very straight forward, and you know by the colors what research does what... Well, all in all, i like it, can't wait to play it...
no, he means, uninstal game, delete everything that was left over, and install it again, and create new shortcut for the game launcher, that's it
When I click on AI ships and fleets I can make them Guard or Sentry, I can click the little X to remove ships from fleets, and do all sorts of other things that I shouldn't be allowed to. I don't think that clicking on those interface buttons is actually doing anything, but it's odd I still can. well,
