Yes, it gets very tiring to go all over the ships in game looking for these problems, and it didn't help that I started at 5am either (on a poor night's sleep. Curse Insomnia!). However , I don't think the problems should have been there in the first place. I am surprised that nothing came up in the betas on this, and I'm sure with the tools Stardock should have the fixes would take a few days tops.
The Wicked Flea
Yes, I hate to say it, but your hardware sucks. The ships are drawn "multipass" style, which increases the detail, but your card is too old to handle it all. Try http://pricewatch.com/ for prices, and get yourself something in the middling range to save money.
They DO, you must build the correct modules though. So build the ship assist defense modules and defend it manually with fleets.
I'd like there to be awards for the victory types such as: Conqueror, Diplomat, Wunderkid (influence), Wizkid. Or something along those lines. Many people fine tune their strategies to one victory or another, and I think there ought to be an award for some of the most effective. I like a lot of the suggestions and the difficulty icons.
It's on your hard drive. Copy it to a USB drive, lazy.
They are diplomatically attempting to flip worlds in their favor, that's their goal. Not the borders or influence points, but cultural war. If they feel threatened by you, they will do this often.
I would like to be able to trade fleets without disbanding it and writing the names down. As I upgrade batches of ships in peace time I often gift them to my friends or minor races doing my bidding (like warring against my enemy). Also I noticed difficulties in getting a minor races to declare war, it's asthough they are already fighting everyone diplomatically speaking. I would also like to see the staff atleast to start going back over t
I am very unhappy with the "balance" of the campaign. The first few maps are training sure, but you flip the stupid switch from 'drizzle' to 'downpour' on Siege! I had been playing on beginner and winning without any trouble prior to Siege, but on that I got creamated in mere weeks. To beat Siege I had to resort to a heavily defensive strategy and literally dig in so that I could survive long enough. I also had to turn the diffituly dow
Many games my allies, but mostly the neutral folk, build influence starbases trying to flip my planets. It gets very aggravating when my influence is hardly that impressive in the first place, far too low to attract that sort of attention. From simple to beginner I've noticed it on.
I know what you all mean. I just, on my 3rd try, started to hold my own against the Dreadlords in Siege (Campaign lvl 4). And such that I can actually make forays out to skirmish! But I'm safest near my starbases and their assist modules... Now to figure out how to kill the drengin. *ponders*
Heh, I figured the storyline wasn't done yet. Gotta leave it open for GCIII!
No. It was much harder than that. I started a game with the "Battle of the Gods" gameplay type. All techs are researched, so I only changed my ship appearance. It took 1 game per style, and roughly 2 hours. Man, I'm still tired. I just hope the staff saw this, I know Boogiebac did, and will start fixing that. I've found a few hardpoints on the JEWELRY messing up too
Here's my debug.err log for ya'll. All of a sudden my montiro went black, the sound ceased and the PC froze. Had to hardboot... Don't say that loudly cause you never know..... the human race might be one of those minor races! Oooh... since I don't play humans, oh well. I do normally trade with minors, specifically techs. Especially ones I wouldn't trade to just a
Don't worry, I think I've got 'em all. I deserve one hell of a cookie though, it took a full 2 hours. You can get the archive here , whenever it's safe to delete gimme a holler. I used this method for naming: "ship hull - hull # - pic #". There are a few text files too, mainly stating "go back over this entire hull and check the points, mainly for "hide-and-seek". Overall best/cleanest: Yo
I'll try and re-find them tomorrow and post a few screenshots. My problem is that I don't have experience with higher than medium hulls, and there's no simple way to check the hulls of all races...
Suralle has a good point. I tend to be hated for my own neutrality most times, and targetted by evil races because I don't focus on the military unless I'm under attack or I spotted nearby buildup. It all depends on your playing style. I beat a small one in 1.5 hours.
You don't build it near yours, that does nothing. Found one close to enemy/neutral planets and you'll slowly incite them to rebel.
Congrats to a very successful launch! I hope this game has a long and strong lifespan.
I'm lovin' it despite all the goofy things that happened on my first two runs of the game. I had to reboot twice for some weird reason, and now I'm down to a stable version with the standard bugs floating about. My first game resulted in a startling and unexpected influence victory. I love the "iKorx"!
It's anti-climactic because I bet there is no climax. If the story ain't done...
Minor Races aren't really important, and I've broken several alliances with 'em. Just refuse to act within the terms of alliance, and it breaks. Voila! And frankly, if you're so concerned about Minor's... just crush the darn races.
I just found a total of 3 misaligned hardpoints on the terran tiny ship, default tiny at game start. I also found one on a Torian Large class, the one with the swept back wings I believe, and the Terran Supply ship (the elongated one) on the rear vertical pylon. I'll try and get some screenshots later... I'm starting to find lots of these, however, and in startling amounts too. I think ya'll ought to give the hulls a good
My first precursor ranger is completely screwed up statistically. The only way for you to believe it is to see the screenshots... <img src="http://img62.im
