Yeah, GC1 had that issue. I recall a game where my heavily dominating empire was torn in half, as a whacky group decided they no longer liked the ways of the Empire (knew I should have stuck with Imperialism). They took my manufacturing and tech capitals with them, as well as quickly pumping out enough ships to make the eminent civil war long and bloody. Ultimately, I lost the game because I was so focused on bringing them back under the robe, I

This is one is a bit of a bother. After a turn occurs and I get my GNN, with pop-ups along the right frame... once I click on a ship icon, I START to center on that planet, but then I'm diverted to the first ship that has a move! Thus, if I hadn't paid attention to WHICH planet just made that new ship, I have to go through all my ship moves and THEN search each planet, looking for the new ship. The little icon along the right side goes
Maybe the Altarian were more so talking about him playing in class... as opposed to their eminent doom? Secretly, they were contacting the prof!
SOrry! Can't stop thinking about this friggin' game (and ways I think would make it even better.) Just one thing this time though: planet tiles. I wish there was not a limit to improving your planet quality. I know you can improve a small number of tiles with soil enrichment, habitat improvement, terraforming, and finaly orbital terraformer; but I wish it didn't stop there. I recall in the GC1, it didn't stop, you could keep researching
Some ship design jewelry ideas: -Items with race logo on them (panels, fins, etc.) -Special effects. I know the elec arcing is part of the game to show a ship is damaged, but having the ability to add elec arcs, glowing engines, pulsating lights, oscilating panels, etc. would be killer sweet. Obviously, more system intensive. Think the disruptor array and nacels on the Enterprise, or the Kitt light on the Cylon ships in BSG.
In the battle screen... PLEASE reduce the amount of motion for the larger ships!! The movement of the bigger capital ships in the battle screen is VERY distracting and can quickly ruin your view depending on your camera. Also, have whatever camera you have chosen adapt to the full geometry of the ship! I have a strong belief that you guys have it tied to the center of the chosen hull. I tried using chase cams in some of my bigger, highly dec
I still think it's wierd you start off with a medium hull ship for your survey ship... yet you can't BUILD another one, for quite sometime. Did some wacky astrotech scientist misplace the friggin' plans or something?!
Indeed, the farm boosting squares generally end up being a BAD thing, rather than a bonus. I know I avoid any of the farm boni over 100%. I had a class 18 planet with the rare 700% increase farm square, built a farm on it, and after 2-3 turns, my approval rating went from 85% to 45% on ONLY that planet. I had to build 4 (quick buy) happiness augmenters before it climbed above the yellow zone in approval!!! Talk about a waste of planet quali
Interesting, because on a gigantic map, when my survey ship got thrown to the other side of the galaxy, I could still get him home. I think it's silly you can't operate a ship if it is out of "range." You should at the very least have the ability to pilot the ship to home waters, regardless of range/life support restrictions.
Apologies in advance for repeat suggestions. I recommend putting some kind of zoom ability into the tech tree viewer. Take the current view as the closest view, and have the ability to zoom out from there. Also, CiV4 had a GREAT option when trading of "what would make this trade work" and the computer would put in what it thinks the trade is worth. The player could then just use that, or modify it more... bartering! It would be he
Er. You should see a little button in the bottom left of the tech window that either says MORE or LESS. If you DON'T see the top portion of the tech window showing a explanation of the tech, it's bonuses, and what it leads too... click that button. Again, if ALL you see on the tech window is the tree, look for that button. It might make life a little easier. I will admit, having the poster from the CE helped me get familiar with t
I believe there are two steps after Friendly: Warm and Close. I've never noticed the option of an alliance unless I was "Close" with them. Could very well be that you CAN do it at "Warm, I just never noticed it.
I t WOULD be nice if you could zoom out of the tree and see the entire tree or a larger section of the tree at one time.
Indeed you can. But since the "collector's version of basic version" thingy posted on the main page doesn't refer to ALL sold games, I have no guarantee that I can get the collector's edition. Where as, my pre-order through EB guarantees me that... just have to wait more than i'd like.
I've been told that it should be available in most places by tomorrow. It's definitely frustrating. Thanks for the reply Frogboy. Yeah, I can imagine for you guys it can be a little frustrating to read the game you just slaved over, put blood sweat and tears into... is not reaching the people clamoring for it!
According to Frogboy, the AI doesn't get a significant additional advantage in terms of money only, until you play at the max difficulty level. Other than that, it's all a series of algorhytmic choices and limitations based on difficulty setting. They had mentioned, that if YOU play at the easiest level, YOU will get a monetary advantage.
Of the 6 BBs I'm willing to travel to in Dallas area... 4 have at least 1 copy. At most, one BB had 3 copies... ALL regular edition. So i'm crossing fingers and toes that EB games gets their Collector's Editions in, so I can finally check out this baby!!
Ok... I know I can hit Walmart and buy the download. I'm not asking where to get it. Cause like I said, I know it is finally available at Best Buy. I've already FULLY paid for a copy via EB Games. I'm asking if there is any known issues with stocking/shipping in the Dallas area, or specifically with EB/Gamestop.
Greetings gang, wanting to know if anyone in the Dallas area is having trouble securing a copy of the game (especially the Collector's edition)? I bought a pre-order at EB games, and as of the time of this post, 6 EB Games/Gamestops near and withthin 10miles of my zipcode still do NOT have the game in stock. In fact, no one has had it this entire week. The only 2 copies I know of are at a Best Buy near my house, and those arrived t
