Actually, they don't. I have had all the options checked or unchecked as the case may be, except I changed it to "Full" from "Normal" while playing earlier. I got one cinematic battle and no others. Now it appears to be working correctly. I wonder if this was one of those "doesn't take effect until you restart the game" deals? If so, why did it work once? Who knows, my killer big-boat just blew up every scout I came across. Defenses of 9-10-10 and Attacks of 32-24-30,

I really, really, really, really, really, really, really (you get the idea?), really, really, really want the printed poster. I ordered yesterday from Stardock, I certainly hope I get it now that my hopes are up for it.
Ahh, you good Darth-padawan learner. It worked this time, I was putting in Collector's Edition SN box. Doh!
I tried it and it told me my SN was not for a collector's edition.
Popup is correct...make sure the "Both sides musct be Fleets" option is turned off, otherwise the cinematic battles will only happen when both sides are fleets (read: not very often) I understand this, but the box has been unchecked all along and I still am not getting the cinematics. The cinematics happened once and only once, and not again
Yes, it is in the Options>Interface>third box down all the way left. Unclick it and your trouble is over (that was driving me crazy, but luckily I found that box rather quickly).
I have all buttons checked in options except the "disable engine trails" and the "only show battles if both sides are fleets," yet I cannot see them in movie form. They keep showing up just in the main interface as pow-pow, someone explodes. How do you get the movie part to work?
Got it, thanks. Well, let me ask...if you're ship is "still on course" somewhere and all others use their moves, will the turn button be green? Thanks again.
I know I read it but cannot find it now; what is the difference between the Collector's Edition and the normal game? Thanks!
Agreed! This is a major need! MAJOR!
Amazon didn't threaten like that, but it says 1-2 weeks before it comes. I downloaded it yesterday {with box version...that meas I get collector's edition? Wow, didn't even know}.
I've yet to see any serious bugs reported. I see a lot of "BIG BUG IN HERE!!!11" posts and then when I go in there I see it as "I get an error message when I exit the game if I've previously hit alt-tab" or "If I mash down all the keys at once when I go into such and such screen the game will crash" which is reported as "ATT RELEASE BUG!!!!" or "I didn'
or...how do you keep track of your ships and movement availability?
How do you know when it is the "next" ship's turn? This is my first 4x game, and it's pretty cool so far, but with only 3 to 4 ships, I was not sure how I was supposed to know who had moves left, etc. In other turn-based games (like Civ4 and Heroes of Might and Magic) the game always went to the person who I could still move next that turn. In this game, I had to check each person and see 'do I have moves left over with them.' Am I doing something wrong?
I remember seeing somewhere that you can have this as an option through the "bonus pack." I have the bonus pack but can't find that option. Does anyone know how to see them full screen?
I did not read any posts save for the one above, even title one. All I have to say just from the title is... BRAVO!!! I really hate multiplayer. It is so often just a ridiculously stupid joke, not a fun, strategical game. Those FPS multiplayer games? I would rather go skip some rocks (honestly). The RPG genre has turned basically MMO, and it is heartbreaking for a true fan. Thank God for Oblivion. This game also!
I, too, would like to know this. I have found that if you change the colors, they stay changed.
Use Stardock Central and click on tools>check for application update. That should work. Mine was kind of freaky, I had to switch servers because all multi-media was missing from the one I had used, so I ended up getting the bonus pack when that happened. The main screen in game tells you in lower right corner what your version is (don't you love that kind of consideration from a game maker).
Yup, I agree, though can't you see what each tech does by scrolling on it? Maybe not, haven't gotten too far, but I thought you could.
I could not find any store that had it, which is why I downloaded it and have it running now on my PC. I had some pitfalls (disappearing files), but overall a good experience (HEY, I CAN PLAY NOW, NOT IN 2 WEEKS WHEN AMAZON NOW SAYS THEY WILL SHIP!).
I agree, this feature should be in the game.
I second that. Still don't understand with disappearing files during download, but all is good now.
Again, thanks, I "think" that did the trick. We will see soon.
Thanks. I think I did successfully switch servers, and the parts were there. It was really odd how they disappeared.
The game downloaded 3 of 4 parts, then disappeared. Now part of it is back. The last part is not there, the update is not there for me to download. When I click on "Update game" from the opening menu, it goes to Stardock, which still does not have the 4th part I need or the update from today. WHAT IS GOING ON?
