I don't know how to do the cool QUOTE thing so I'm responding to this quote... Just to be clear-- my point of this thread is really to celebrate the things that people have accomplished. Maybe you should have called the thread "10 things you have accomplished." I apologize about messing up your thread--I had no intention of doing that. Whip drew "first blood" by joking about GM asking for a bailout. How the hell can you joke about something that effect

I'm just stereotyping about strippers like you are about car salespeople. I could stereotype and say that there are 4 stripper lies that almost all of them say... 1) "I've only been doing this for 2 days." 2) "I'm putting myself through college." 3) "You are my first lapdance." 4) "I really like you--oh--you're out of money? NEXT!"

Obviously, I'm on the wrong board--I actually thought people had a sense of humor here--guess I was wrong. I guess I have to explain things because you do not understand sarcasm. You know how when you go to a class reunion? People always feel that they have to embelish what they have done since graduating? I did it as a little bit of sarcash--I picked the most otrageous thing I could think of (being a fighter pilot, being shot down and having a movie made about i

Didn't lie--geared my presentation towards my audience as any good salesperson does. I do firmly believe that we have better products than Toyota (google their truck recall or the engine oil sludge if you don't believe me.) Onstar is great--I had a customer get car-jacked and onstar tracked down the car, slowed it down and caught the criminal. Remember the family that got stuck int he snow a couple of winters ago? The dad went out to get help and they found him frozen to dea

Don't forget to mention me in your book--the part where you were going to write "Body Odor Civilizations" and I said that maybe something in space would be a little cooler... Marv

Oh yeah--when classmates came out, I wrote that I volunteered for the Gulf War, became an F-15 fighter pilot, got shot down, captured and tortured. I then wrote that a movie was going to be made about my experiences and was going to star Ben Afflec as me. I actually had a few people from highschool email me and say they never knew that about me! 1. Had 2 kids 2. Wrote a CRM program that I sell for car salespeople. 3. Got married 4. Took photos of Mars through my telescope and a webcam in 2003 when Mars was close. 5. Met a moonwalker (Gene Cernan) 6. I was on a commercial back in 1979--my dad invented a hand-held skateboard sail and we did a commercial. The business burnt down, no insurance, no sales, etc. Pre-internet marketing blues. 7. Wrote a screenplay and novel (both non-publ

I would say it was a tie--I like them both but neither had a grand slam. One thing I noticed, though, was that as a whole--they both did much better than Bush & Kerry or Gore. Marv

That's right--I was a sub-op. I also had my own BBS briefly that was from 9:00pm until 6:00am (or something like that) and it used the home phone #--I was too broke to get a dedicated line. I remember all day,the phone would ring and my dad would answer and get the modem noise. Then, it would ring again and someone would say, "Is this Castle Aurora?" Hahahaha. Drove my dad to drink! I had a list of local BBS #'s--lets see. Dark Side of the Moon--didn't Pat's brother run that one?

Hey--just bought Sins. When I exit the program or when I initially clicked to update the program, screen appeared that the refresh was all screwed up--you know--the lines moving all over the place. I'm using vista and a gforce 7900. It forces me to press the reset button on my computer since I can't see anything on the screen except lines. Anyone else had this problem? Marv
