Hey IC, I do have to say that the Shacknews reviewer got the artistic style bit quite wrong. Love the style, especially the TEC Carrier (Soyov?). Only thing I'd like to see is a whee bit more color (especially on those Advent drones!). Great work guys!

1.) The AI I've played against has made use of a mix of strategies. While it has sent siege rushes, even two at once by a single AI at one point in my last game, it has also maintained at least one credible fleet as well. Maintaining a fleet while flanking in siege frigates to backwater, poorly defended planets is not something that should be removed. 2.) I personally don't have any objections to this "nerf", because honestly it's not really a nerf. The whole point of the "seige rush
@ the third point, you do have fleet cohesion to "tight", correct? Stupid question, I know, but I haven't had many dispersal problems by maintaining my fleets that way.
Wow...just wow. First off, first time playing this game, and I absolutely *loved* the pirate raids and siege runs later in the game made by the AI. For the former, it's basically free XP, as the pirate groups are not very well balances, and a well equipped front line with a decent fleet (depending how far you are ingame of course will determine size of said flee). The latter just makes me laugh at some people, I understand that some are just starting at this...hell, I am, but t
Make sure your PSU can handle the new card before purchasing it!
I guess it's not too surprising that the apologists are making an effort to justify this situation. I noticed quite a few people were trying quite hard to justify the state of Hellgate London when it was launched too. I guess when you have people that follow a game for years you tend to get a subset that believes they "can do no wrong". It's okay to say a company that you respect has messed up - things go wrong, people make mistakes. You don't need to come up with fli
I wasnt whining about it. You really need to learn the definition of what constitutes whining.
My bad, I must have lumped you in with the people who have been whining about there not being a demo released before the game, despite developers stating why they chose to do a post-release demo. Interpret my post as a more general post to that issue rather than you specifically.
I guess most of us learned a lesson today, never pre-order from stardock 1-5 days before release
Why? I'm downloading mine at the blazing fast speed of 5-45kbps...god I hate my school connection.
While I don't necessarily agree with the pirates methods, I don't see what the big deal is if pirates are limited to Singleplayer skirmishes anyways. Some pirates might even buy the game anyways. It's not like we've had any demo of the game yet.
1.) Since when is a pre-release demo necessary? It's not, so quit whining about that. There's already been a plethora of open feedback thanks to the betas, and if you're really up in the
Order direct from Stardock ftw.
Please...5kb-45kb here...on a T1 connection...in NY. ... Of course I'm on a throttled school connection, so it's blazing fast for me :P EDIT: Woah...138kb for 1/2 a second there...jeepers creepers batman!

That would be my guess, yes.
8800 gtx, meh. the gt is nearly as fast and so much cheaper it's not funny. if you really want to be that fast, grab the gts, it's faster than the gtx Um, since when is the GTS faster than the GTX?
They're not, but they are nearly identical in performance up to the >24" resolutions, and considering the price...win! (proud owner of OC'd eVGA 8800GTS 512 :P)
Hell, eets and I would talk online via Steam before my school blocked EVERY port but 80. I just have to wait until December, and then I graduate.....
Haha, graduate in May...which will make up for this POS connection my school has. God how I hate indiscriminate blocked ports.
Nope, you can control z-axis movement...but it's not going to make a difference apparently. And z-axis is *very* important in a space-sim/space strat. game, simply look at say HW vs. SotS (horrible game btw).
That's awesome that you even made the effort. Looking forward to the read :)
The regular box and collector's edition box both come with a nice big 80 page manual. Only the digital download copy only comes with a pdf.
Blair, is the printed manual just the printed .pdf, or does it contain additional content. Also, does the .pdf contain more than just basics, such as lore/backstory? I ask because to this day Dynamix's Starsiege shipped with one of the best manual/background compendiums I have ever s
Developer double post! Screenshot for posterity!!!
I seem to have missed where a demo is somehow a requirement for a game release... Last I checked, post-release demos have been an equally viable market strategy. Considering IC/SD's emphasis on quality, support, and releasing *finished* products (something other developers/publishers should take note on), I'm not at all surprised with the decision to have a post-release demo. If you really want the game now, you'll shell out for it. If it's something you're iffy on, then you'
Why, why, WHY did I read through this thread? The horror! Oh, and do I count as a lurker if I have followed since the betas but haven't made a single post until 2 days ago?
Would be awesome PR...not to mention amusing ^.^ Be even better if there were team voice recordings (I have no idea how you all go about VoIP). I would also like to see a 5 v Multi :d

Since when does an Amazon.com preorder date (re: they want you to buy it through them) = OFFICIAL release date?
