The thing is the game will never be the game WE ALL WANT. There's too much diversity in opinions and wants here. I want this, another person wants that then the arguements ensue over why each others wants are stupid and redicuous and insane and blah blah blah just like every other game development forum out there. I will give most of you a little clue. The game core has already been built. The game DESIGN is already in place and when you start beta-ing all you are going to be abl

Lol they hate me on this board, so be careful who you call friend or they will turn on YOU and tell you that you are crazy, insane, delusional les see what else did I forget? Oh lots of really bad names. lol
Very good Boogiebac. ;) Just what I wanted to read. ;)
Remember in LotR the wizard MADE creatures from trees and mud and other magical ingredients. This could well be used for creating offspring for non-human types just like in the movie. So, it would be very easy for the eye to have offspring as it could make them from molten lava and pumice rocks in the mountain of doom. Throw in some spark from it's eye and wallah an offspring.
Yes that's the way I see it also CoffeeMonkey because the artical didn't say Immortal it said ETERNAL thus meaning forever an ever. So, as long as there is a part of his essence in some or one of his offspring then yes he continues on an on an on until his entire kingdom is destroyed or the game reaches that critical mass % ownage of the map that's going to be part of the game or the one most powerful spell being cast like Master of Magic. To me the soveriegn can only be displaced he cannot b
I don't expect this one aspect of diplomacy to become the entire game. This discussion leads me to believe others think it will.
That's because most others on this forum think one diminsional in every catagory of thought. Just overlook it it of course won't be the entire game of course.
Keep it simple stupid is the motto for great games. MOM had this same feature along with a magic resistance stat and it worked perfectly and nobody complained and the majority of gamers still hold it in highest esteem as the fantasy game all other fantasy designers should look to when making a fantasy wargame.
That is indeed me, my friend.
You see boys & girls I have a FRIEND.....choke on it! hahahah
Oh Yarlen will you please curb these children afterall you did tell THEM to stop with the PERSONAL INSULTS now didn't you? ;)
Yeah ok Yarlen I'm sorry. But, some of these F.... grrrrrr just don't have a clue. I hate one diminsional thinking in people. I'm sure you know a great developer thinks in more than one diminsion so I'm not too worried really about how the game is going to turn out in the challenge department. Just had to cool off from reading these Ch..... posts. ;)
The point being Scorp it has nothing to do with the damn book. Just like developers of a game the producers of the movie CHANGED and SURPRISED the people with these out of nowhere changes to excite and entensify the part of the movie where these events happen. It's was a DESIGNED DECISION to put those in the MOVIE just like in a GAME. If you can even comprehend the concept and that there are 1000's of ideas how to make a movie just as there are to make a game. As I said it's been done a lot i
That would make for an incredibly stupid and boring game imo.
That's because you and the others have incredibly stupid and boring minds and only think one diminsional. I think in 5th diminsions ;) I should have known better to even discuss the issue with morons. As you can see from earlier posts of mine and what Brad has told us I'm pretty much in sync with him now and you'll be SURPRISED at some of the SURPRISES in the game. Some of you ain't gonna like them but oh wel
Guess you guys didn't see Lord of the Rings when the undead come in to save the day vs the then WINNING side. The humans had no chance of victory, but, all of a sudden and how about that JUST LUCKY IN THE NICK OF TIME they appear on these black boats and kill everything in sight. lmao. I bet yall loved that part didn't you? Then at helms deep or was it Minas Tirith when it is about to fall and they ride out to glorious death oh my how about that JUST LUCKY IN THE NICK
Sorry I don't go for play on words pal and this is the biggest play on words I've ever seen. I've NEVER paid to play a BETA in 27 years. I've been a BETA tester for games since SSI days and I never had to paid a dime or put up a dime or any amount of monty to play a GD BETA edition. This is just a CHEAP ASS way to scam money out of kids who don't understand the policy or rules about BETA vs PRE-ORDERS.
Why bother explaining anything when you can just baselessly claim authority?
Exactly so why don't you just stfu and move on like a good lil boy. ;)
Hell, CA games do that already with magical materialising rebel armies (that would take the player many turns to recruit) teleporting down from the Freedom Star. How FUN that is!
And if you had read my post you would have seen I metioned that little fact about Medieval Total War. Obvious
Wow that Pnakotus is a real puss worse than me. ;)
Hah Hah way to go Stardock let em eat cake. ;)
You act like you can't ever play it again? http://www.abandonia.com/en/search_abandonia/Master+of+Magic Surely you have DOSBOX or know about it right? http://www.brothersoft.com/dosbox-(0.65)-config-editor-60516.html Now you can play to your hearts content again. ;)
No I will just point out once again that you are an idiot with now a below 80IQ. I've played them all since 1982 I know what is good I know what sells and I know what is a great game. You don't you're living in a delusional world that AI programming should be Expert level and every game should have Big Blue programmed into it. lmao what a moron you are.
If you have a bad connection you won't be able to play online. The only difference is that unlike most games which let you figure this out once the game has started, Elemental won't give you the chance to ruin a multiplayer game. If that's your pic Raven X I believe the Post Office is looking for you. ;)
Well I'm all for anything but canned and knowing what you are gonna get research. Forrest Gump said it best; Reseach is like a box of chocolates you never know what you're going to get. ;)
Yeah that's why Sid Meiers games are top selling strategy games of all time because he doesn't know what he's doing. Lmao same with CA and Total War games. Outselling all your crappy games that are sooooooo balanced the ai can't win. hahaha baw haw haw haw haw. Come back when you growup kid and realize the way to make great games is to allow their to be difficulty levels an cheats for players who have a higher IQ than you do. Everyone that plays these games don't have 80 IQ's like you.lmao Ev
I oppose the idea that women should be placed in the subservient role and to be married off for a diplomatic bonus just because they are female.
Not me I'm agin it. Females subservient yeah and nakid. Git Off muh land!
We all know in most every game that ai is usually a pushover and we get so strong it becomes not much fun to continue on and boring. So I propose the AI SURPRISE programming that knows when the game has reached that point. The AI surprise is about LUCK and there should be LUCk in this game. From out of nowhere the AI will get this LUCK and will be granted an X number of the most powerful creatures in the game that it can control (but at least a stack full). It's like a one last stand
