i have tried to find this on sega genesis for a while with no luck. a mod would be awesome.
reganomics
fighters take out bombers and other fighters bombers take out frigates and bigger ships thats why your screwing up ur defense
no way, then we wont be able to escape!
fighters take out bombers
(and other fighters)
so the way i thought about them is as follows: fighters take out bombers bombers take out ships (ie. frigates and larger) am i wrong? cause other posts i see is that people are using fighters to combat frigates and such, they are supposed to counteract the enemies bombers that are chewing up your frigates and larger ships. there was one post titled 'gameplay mechanic issue' and the guy goes on and on about not being able defend properly while hes stocked up on fighters i
this hap
LOL the AI will make you pay for waiting (its by design). 2-3 hours has been the average game for me on small maps because i like epic battles. I pretty much turtle on purpose, and wait for the AI steamroll fleets to show up. Then blammo! bye bye AI.
yeah this is when i got smashed last night, split my forces and got stuck with the AI's choke point between one planer and my colony's choke point. it just got ridiculous
so your being overrun... lots of questions: 1. does anyone have good cap ship combos that they like? (previously asked but its a good, debatable question) 2. how many cap ships total do you like to have in one fleet? 3. do you mix fighters in defense hangers and carriers/cap ships.? (balanced or specialized (ie. carriers have all fighters and hangers have all bombers or vise versa or mixed for all)) 4. are you having fun blasting people into the
that sounds like a great idea! one more option to toggle...lol. maybe i should just slow down a little and place that defense structure, cause really what else am i doin besides cycling thru the research menu and my colonies to see what i can build. :CONGRAT:
It will be really helpful if there is a button to change the order of the queues that is in fact a pretty good idea. for ex. when you have a longer list and something happens and you need some particular tech earlier, but dont want to cance
what i was trying to get at but the forum would not let me edit, my slow and steady pace keeps me from over-expanding and spreading myself too thin. when i leave a planet i have at least a hanger, and a couple turrents
i know what you mean, but, last night i played a game and at this point have gotten to a stalemate of a huge fleet coming at my heavily defended choke point planet. of course i was a while into the game at that point; however, are you building up your captured planets and asteroids for better colonies and more logistics and tactical points? i enhance my planets and asteroids 1st, even before queuing research. if your colonies are fully developed or on their way before you move on to colonize
yeah i have noticed the structures are clumped usually, which sometimes is good and sometimes not. i played a game last night with auto place on the whole time and while the logistics structures were primarily in small groups the tactical ones were placed appropriately near the clumps. but when they are placed near a phase lane that leads to one of my planets is when i get annoyed.
does any one use the auto place? what problems do anyone have with the AI doin this? i just leave it on to save time and the structures are placed near the various stations that i have built. oh and a related question, where can we see the area of affect with things like the repair hanger and the turrent and such?
Why, exactly, were you sitting in your home system for 30 minutes? That's the only problem I'm having with all these arguements. I've yet to have a problem SEE a fleet coming. Are you scouting at all?
Exactly...
its if you have a REALLY old comp and the ship models and stations and such become bumps and not actual detailed 3D models, at least thats what i think it is.
can you guys specify which race your using. (obviously kols are the tecs)
