so if even supposedly legit users are having the problem, why did it trigger on one day, which it seems to have done? if it did, and these uers are legit or trial version, then i'd say startdock f'd up their crack-checking and just ticked off a lot of paying customers...
Vanilla Ice
a crack only modifies the file once. and since it worked just fine since the relase of WB5, the crack did not mess up anything. that's just PR spin they're feeding you. like i said, i'm a developer and my apps are cracked, but i would never harm someone's computer because of it. i could easily, but i wouldn't. it isn't right.
first off: i have a warezed copy. but what startdock has done is just not right. the part about it not harming your computer is BS. i booted my computer yesterday, the taskbar was only half there nad not responding. i brought up task manager and it looked odd with no titlebar. the computer was painting so slow i couldn't do anything. i took about two minutes just to click something or do anythign at all. of course with the whole "integrated" thing now
i don't see what the excitement is about...
oh, i reinstalled and everything works now.
You could try unlocking/relocking your taskbar, or maybe try stretching it to two lines tall, then put it back to the way you like it. If you don't have "hide inactive icons" enabled in the taskbar properties, you could try enabling that. Sometimes pushing the arrow button to slide the tray out and back in can get the icons to re
i am using the standard windows taskbar. and by latest version i mean the latest version of windowblinds. i posted this thread in the WB section, but i forgot it may show up in the main area and so it wouldn't be evident what app i'm talking aboout... sorry 'bout that.
this is really annoying. starting a month or so ago, no matter what theme i use, there's nothing in my systray. it makes room for them (expanding as more are added), but they aren't there. and right-clicking where they should be gives me just the taskbar context menu. btw, using the latest version (enhanced) on xp pro.
oh well. i got tired of theme and changed to Vskin4, a Visual Style.
enhanced.
yes, i've restarted several times. the top section of the start panel flashes and for some reason there's a small square, maybe 32 pixels wide, above My Documents that stays gray. btw i've got WB 4.3 i believe.
i'm having a problem with the PocketPC skin included in the Unorthodox skin pack. when i click Start, the top of the start menu flashes black (along with the green light). anyone else have the same problem?
that does make the pinned start menu icons bigger, so that's good, but what i want most is to be able to use huge icons in Explorer, like 96x96. so that create two problems: if i use Tiles view the icons are still the old, smaller size. and second, while i can use the Icons view and see my huge icons, then the icons in the start menu will be 96x96 as well, and that sure isn't good... i think stardock should make an app that let's you customize the different Explorer views.
i know Icon Packager has the icon size setting, which is the same as Display Properties > Appearence > Icons > Size i think, but it sucks. mostly cause the icons in the start menu for instance get huge and ugly. but also cause in Explorer, i use the Tiles view, which still only shows 48x48. so is there a way to change the size of icons Tiles View shows? and secondly, is there a way to only make the pinned start menu icons bigger, say to 48x48? there's a setting in Taskbar prope
my guess is Stardock put a lot of work in DX and now nobody is really using it. I don't. To me it's just overdoing it. I don't need a bunch of crap on my desktop,I don't need clocks - there's one in the systray, i don't need a calender - i can double-click the systray, i don't need a media play - i have several, i don't need news or other content shown to me - there's websites for that, and i don't really care about what percentage of memory i'm using right now. i don't need anything to
It will curve out for lots of white and in for lots of black. omg, i just checked and you're exactly right. thanks.
tried all of the above. IP says it's changed. i've tried rebuild icons doesn't fix it. i've tried different themes and everything.
no, a hacked uxtheme.dll well, and a hacked kernel for the bootscreen i have. but actually i noticed something, the distortion is there with vistual styles. it's just not as bad. but the weirdest thing is at the desktop there's not much distortion, it's almost straight. but open a fullscreen window and it bends worse. open a second window and it it doesn't get worse, but just bends a different direction. and as you switch between the windows, the shape changes.
to clear it up, i the sides aren't moving, just static in a wavy pattern. don't have that problem running unsigned visual styles, just WB.
everywhere. My Documents, start menu, everywhere.
it absolutely refuses to. i had IP 2.3 or whatever it was and now have 2.5 (Enhanced versions), but still doesn't fix it. i've tried everything to change the icon, even trying to resort to editing the shell32.dll. somehow that doesn't even work. wtf... any ideas?
i've got WB 4.0 Enhanced. when I use it my screen is distorted around the edges. kinda like how when you adjust the concave/convex settings on the monitor. but instead of just being either, the sides are wavy, moving in and out instead of a straight line. i dunno what the prob is. any ideas? oh and i am running XP. what new icons are supported? cause, my My Music icon won't change... (using the previous version)
using it right now. tho kazaa (and k-lite) are best, there's still winmx, shareaza, dc++, ftp, etc... it'll just be harder to find rare stuff like the 2pac - rap phenomenon 2 cd i'm getting right now.
