Its suited for online play. Just don't play large maps vs strangers. Then its very well your 30min to 1h natural RTS time efford, and the usual randomer is rarely capable of a more lengthy match. If you spend more efford and your opponets quit you will only be increasingly frustrated. This game can be saved in online matches, so if you know your opponents you can agree for continuing a lengthy campain on a regular basis. Also its great for LAN. Its true that this is not focusing the mainstrea

Okay, RA was a gamebreaker. Winning against multiple opponents with RA on a consistent basis was too powerful, period. Now that it has been nerfed beyond serious impact its too weak for being justified, seconded. As far as i can see there are two solutions. 1. Majors Stress's sugestion it should be like insurgency. Without control it can't be abused, and its power could be easily tweaked to a fitting level. The only problem i see is that it would be a mirror of the TEC ability
Fractured community. Its a sad but it happens often. Currently two versions are coursing the net. The unbalanced 1.0 and the beta 1.095 further dividing the playerbase. Adding to this is that the patches are only distributed wich some people still refuse to use. Before figuring out how to get the beta trough impulse (by enabling "prerelease versions" in some obscure menue for it actually showing up) you should take note that in 1.0 usually there are always a few games goin, the Beta is pretty

All the cleverly laid out justifications and threatening people with unemployment aside: Try this at your bank: Ask them if they can lend you money so you can get interest. And actually you are not going to lend it and have no intention of giving it back.

I started out with Advent because i liked how the Halycon looked. Then i learned playing Vasari because i wanted to test RA everyone was complaining about. Then i fell into love with the nukes of the Marza and started playing TEC. I have to say i like all three and i am at a point where deciding wich race to play becomes a really difficult task. I find that random race function very useful ^^ As far as i can break it down: Vasari are all about phase missiles. They access veary

I dont think Ive ever seen all 7 salvos of Phase Missiles hit the same target.
You are right of course, the ability strikes multiple targets, my bad. Not all will hit the carrier (except the carrier is the only ship in the radius) but considering we talk a few hundred points damage per missile its a valid option. Its no missile barrage or gauss c

The point was "its insanely expensive", wich means under capitalisitc society systems it has a not a very good chance to be ever considered because society is geared twoards "making economic decisions", and it leads to a certain trend, leaving only those people in charge. Economic decisions are NOT always the right decision. As i already outlined the US space program came only into existance because of the Russian space program. For flexing muscles. Not really taken seriously as scientific ef
Let me put it to you this way, in the online multiplayer game the experienced players almost never play TEC. If someone on my team is choosing to play TEC I get concerned and might ask them in /w about their reasons for wanting to play TEC.
Defeating a hard AI on a small map is the most easy task for TEC compared to the other races in my opinion. One reason is the Marza (i hope i spelled it righ
I noticed AIs generate missions in most cases centering around neighbouring AIs (or players). So if you have an AI in your neighbourhood and you shoot it (and you will), its most likely a gain in favour to somebody else in the vicinity. Open up the diplomacy tab and see wich faction standing is raised by you (preemtive?) defense effords. As soon as favour reaches 30% offer a chease fire treaty. Shooting a AI is decreasing favour, so you really don't want to shoot the f

What you really want is a multipurpose fleet. You will most likely start out with an Evacuator, so that ship should be level 6 very quickly. Its not exactly a battleship, but you can order it to drain the planet right away. If you bring two Vulkoras for an example and picked the siege platform ability those platforms will add to the drain effect planet damage. Instead of ordering the Vulkoras to join the planet assault you let them rather deal with the guarding fleet. Vulkoras are formidable
1) Capital ship yard, mines (crystal first), scouts, infrastructure, labs 2) Gain as much ground as you can as quickly as possible. This means usually going for the colony capital ship (more antimatter), wich is in the Vasari case the so called "Space Egg" or Evacuator. It also has some use in planetary assaults later (level 6 as already mentioned), but the ability has quite some cooldown - i really prefer vulkoras later on. Leveling your planet eredicators to level 6 before actual us
Allied AIs taking orbital position around your planets still utter vocal threats, despite being allies and not attacking. Actually the behaviour should be looked upon too, because its kinda a waste positioning a fleet around allied planets for taking over but being prevented by a contract, deadlocking the fleet. Thanks for your kind attention.
The technology we do have is very pathetic: Everything is created on Earth, and has to be put together as modules in space. In addition, it's insanely expensive, with no price drops in sight. Only governments can afford to put people in space, with private industry barely being able to reach low Earth orbit. I'll count myself lucky if we see another moon landing or trip to Mars in my lifetime. . . . and if we have to deal with any e
Because the name is hard to remember. I vote for renaming it to MASSACRATOR. "Where the hell is my fleet/planet? Oh, i see, there is a MASSACRATOR. They probably got MASSACRED." Pretty simple to remember, isn't it? ^^
It will matter one day, the chance to survive sacrificed by people fully aware of the results. Sacrificed for personal gain because those people cared about nothing else than themself. You count me out of this one. Planned extinction. You see, i understand the will to evil. The will to evil is like an iron forge. It can only be shaped by a conscience that is the fire. If there was a creator, he obviously came to the same conclusion. I am glad we experience today first
I doubt many people will be interested in colonizing planets that take multiple lifetimes and unspeakable resources to reach. More gameplay depth. We have this wonderfully polished interface wich lets us command one of three stellar fleets in gorgeous beauty at strategic and tactic levels, wich we can hook up in multiplayer matches ar simply play vs customizable AIs inf fixed or random generate maps of various sizes. Great. More! One way would be expanding contend. Expanded technology trees, additional ships, additional races, single player campains, the works. But depth refers not si
I got a different suggestion: remove ranking completely. It leads to nothing but trouble. People being kicked for being beginners, Newbiecrushing for stats, Quiting to circumvent bad stats and of course the the abuse of every possible exploit and hacking to get good stats. Seriously... to hell with it. Its the bane of each multiplayer community. My suggestion is instead makling the game less predictable and employ mechanics wich keep the players on a compeditive level
Some capital ships are capable of colonizing planets. There are slight issues with their behaviour when the ability is on autocast (default stting). If you order those to enter a neutral system the first thing the capital ship is going to do is sending a colony detatchment to the surface. The problem is that the system is occupied by neutral forces guarding the planet. In most cases the guarding fleet will contain at least one siege frigate. Wich means the new colony g
Its ready when its ready. Get impulse, get the patch and speed it up by giving feedback. Because feedback is - belive it or not - very important to them. So far they pay huge attention to the forum beta section and alter the game accordingly. The last issues revolved to a huge degree around carrier and strikecraft balancing. (scuttlebug, building speed, flak performance) If you install it you notice a huge bias in AI fleet composition twoards st
Its true that Advent have superior shields. Its also true they have fragile ships. Bypassing the shields (phase missiles for an example) will make them die quickly. Whilst it is true there are some area energy weapon enhancers (Mothership malice, Halycon energy weapon aura) go extremely well with those Illuminators the focus shifted somewhat from LRF (long range frigate) warfare twoards strikecraft (fighters/bombers). And Tec has the Marzada. Behold its terror! Not only is it
