We kept it generic because the other races have ship component shops that are not "retrofit bays". We generally like to be consistent in the naming of game systems everyone shares so it easier to understand when you switch races. If there are a lot of complaints we'll consider changing it the other way. Consider your post 1 vote for the other way :)

They will absolutely be nerfed. The best way to do it is still being debated but its possible to give them an economic penalty. How else are you paying for all that chaff? lol

Component changes are visually reflected on Starbases and Titans. It theory in could be on any unit if we find the time. Modders also have control over this as well.

Hi Heretic, Thanks for the feedback. The design of the TEC is intended to be civilian and platformy so on one hand I'm happy that you picked up on that but the other hand I understand it isn't your preference. Before I dive into the details, I think you may much prefer the Vasari and Advent designs as they are far less boxy and their weapons are elegantly integrated into the hulls (as opposed to tacked on platforms). Now with regard to the TEC, both the civilian and pl

If you have orbiting planets turned on, they will move around the local star. You don't have control over the position or direction of the planets. The human map designer either sets this up explicitly or sets up the options for the generator. During the game you can't move your capital planet to the best defensive position (or any position). Edit: As I was eating I realized you probably meant changing which planet is your capital planet as opposed to actually moving the plane

Sorry, everything is still in flux and not all info makes it to all the locations (yet!). I'm happy to explain. Really quick summary of current state (subject to change): - The orbit lines indicate where that planetary object will be in 10 minutes. - Yellow lines are prograde. - Red lines are retrograde. - Planets closer to the star move (orbit) faster than those further out. - Phase lanes can change based on the orbiting dynamics (ex. a

We need to improve the planet and built tradeport tooltips. However, if you hover the tradeport structure in the area where you would build one, it shows you what that planet provides in terms of trade. The rough gist of it is some planets can handle more imports (e.g. Terran planet -> large population, more demand capacity) and some are better at exporting (e.g. a Volcanic planet can export tons of metal). The addition of TradePorts will amplify import/export capabilities of that particul

Gotcha, that is by design. The Dunov is considered a support ship so we set the combat distance to be determined by its bigger weapons. This keeps it as far away from the target as possible while still doing a reasonable amount of dmg (low armor pen, low dmg PD shouldn't contribute much). PD in this case is really just to keep it alive if there is a missile or strikecraft attack to the rear. We may need to rebalance its PD if is doing a lot of dmg but we haven't focused much on balance yet.</

There are several new customizations in Sins2: 1. Primary Color 2. Secondary Color 3. Player Logos on the ship (coming soon) 4. Minimal Color options (ala Sins1) 5. Ships Components (these are items you can buy to tweak your ship stats and abilities). We felt anything more sophisticated would be too complicated give the real-time size and scope of the game

We have that option available, it just isn't in the option screen yet. You can manually switch to the method you want by opening the settings file in "C:\Users\Blair\AppData\Local\sins2_pre_alpha\settings\settings.json" with notepad or something similar. Change "camera.is_zoom_to_cursor_enabled": true," to "camera.is_zoom_to_cursor_enabled": false, We'll make it available in-game at some point down the road.

I can't say whether Sins2 can give you exactly what you want as I'm not aware of the details but the limitation of having to choose between fighter physics and regular physics is no longer an issue as all ships now share the same physics model. In theory you could make a capital ship behave like a fighter, corvette, or some other variant.

Thank you for the detailed feedback. Here are some answers/suggestion to some of your questions: The reinforce fleet can be done in multiple ways. The typical way is to select a specific set of factories or planets that have factories and right click the focus planet (or the fleet there). This sets a "rally" point so that all produced ships will go there. I typically rally to my flagship in that fleet so if it moves the rallied ships will follow it. I also typically keep my fl
