Something to keep in mind is players abusing this, whatever the decision. In some games, notably Age of Empires 1, you could cause great havoc due to the way most RTS do building in this manner. In AOE, you could just like get the wall (which requires only 5 stone each), and just 'build' across the map. Many times I succesfully screwed another player by filling his base up with 0% built walls, which while they only need 1 hit to kill, you need to micro to kill it all, which takes way a

Hm well it seemed to cap me to 20kB/s per 'thread'. So I just used flashget, and made 10 threads, thereby getting each one at 200kB.. I downloaded all 5 at once, so I was getting 950-1000kB/s for the ~15 minutes it took to download, not bad I suppose Any idea who your hosted with at the moment? Is it some cheapo place like bluehost.com hostgator.com or the like? Anyways, I liked the video, though I felt let down by the gam
I hear what you are saying, but you still don't get it. I don't care about what the cap is NOW (really), or whether or not there is an option to pick from different caps, multiplayer, I care only about the future. Even if they think that in 5 years time, the hardware could still only handle 20k points worth of ships, I'm STILL POINTING OUT THAT THEY SHOULDN'T BE SETTING IT IN CONCRETE LIKE THAT!! It only needs a simple max_cap = something; in an ini file, and we'll be happy. I'm argui
Can you provide a faster means of downloading from the site, then i'll put them elsewhere. At the moment im getting atrociously slow speeds (20KB/s)... Uhm I can give you FTP if you'd prefer to upload to that (might be faster than me downloading from your host, lol).. Cheers EDIT: never mind really, i found a way to download faster... but yea seriously, i can put in places with more bandwidth
Something that will piss me off, as well probably lots of other, will be hardcoded limits to things. There is nothing more frustrating then that, for example Conquest: Frontier Wars, has been coded such that you can't get more than 200points worth of units, even with a special patch. I understand all the limitations of the game, but it would be REALLY COOL if you made the limit in a .ini file, so that in 5 years when we are running oct-core CPUs and 16GB RAM, we can play SINS with thousands of s
WTF, why can i not edit my post... That is lame. I hope i don't seem to arrogant or bad or whatever, just can see SOASE going down the drain is all
Yay. Just go and remove the whole forum of the dedicated fans, and then let a bunch of n00bs take over the distribution of the game. Smart move, very smart. You might even manage to not sell a copy now Oh, and don't mind me, just a little dissapointed thats all....
