ya, they mentioned awhile back that we would be able to save multi games, but i'm not interested in games that cannot be played in one sitting, the main reason being that you'll never get the same people back to finish (sure they might sots the thing: allow others or comps to hop in absent players' spots, but that would ruin the game entirely for me)

i see both sides about the gauss cannons... though the way space lanes work atm it would make the game imbalanced to increase the firepower/health/shielding of the emplacements - you could just place as many as you want around the forward phase jump entrance on the other hand, i think a viable compensation would be to increase the gauss cannon's firepower and health as much as they want, but in return make them a huge maintenance cost (so if you build too many, then your empire doesn't

Until told otherwise I shall assume that if the devs flat out refuse to add something that has been reasonably justified and generally supported by the community it is because of either technical difficulties and limitations or a valid belief that it would not add anything to the game worthy of the investment of resources to make it happen. thats what i meant by if they refuse, im sure they are taking our feedback seriously, but they can't remake the ent

heh ya, choke points might work on a ww2 battlefield, but not in 3d space with hyperspace... (who am i kidding? soase isn't 3d...) good to know about the research, still though, at least with multiple stations you have the option of putting them all together, or keeping them separate

I do tend to agree to a point with you on this. I can understand some people wanting to take total control of their fleets like in HW. You can to a point in Sins but it still needs some work, and polish. Formations need a little more work, and variety. Id love to see X, Wall (it is the default group jump formation now), and Delta formations in the game. Aggressive, Neutral, and Passive tactics would be nice as well. formations and tactical stances (ie ag

i think we should work on getting better ships than changing current physics in order to produce more interesting gameplay, let us control the fighters, add corvettes perhaps, make the battles less auto-controlled, more precision and more classes of ships (not just more types - i know they are coming, but lets branch out beyond just caps and frigs, with the odd auto-pilot bomber wing)

i would vote to keep buildings non-upgradeable, i really don't like the idea of leveling for ships/buildings, though upgrading (as in armor/weaps and whatnot) is fine in this case: why put all your eggs in one basket, if i played on a large map i'd want to put my research stations in different systems so my opponent couldn't take it out in one attack i think the idea of having different research stations for different types of research is intriguing, i say this because it would

(referring to post 50) all that would do it seems to me is reduce the effect of what little tactics there are in the game... focused fire being one of the very few ways you as a player can use tactics to improve the auto-combat

well im looking for a multiplayer game anyway (no saving) so i could really care less about singleplayer stuff

"Hanger location only helps the initial travel to the combat area right now)." That should be the only thing hangar location helps... "I'd also like bombers to perform one (more powerful) attack on ships and then have to return to base to reload. It doesn't make sense right now that the bombers will continually attack a target one-missile-at-a-time rather than just firing all those missles all at once. I think an attack of, say, 4 bomber squads should halve a capital ships's shields

i read the top 3 posts and skipped down here... bah @ you guys lol, the game is gonna be boring as hell if the backbone of the strategy is fleet compositing, if the battles can be left to themselves once you've put together a fleet, then you just took out 100% of the tactics and left us with only strategy i seem to be one of the very few here that want a tactical element to this game, i want direct and precise control over my ships, if i micro-manage (you guys seem to abhor tha

i'll admit that is a tad frustrating, they might have wanted us to feel we don't need to consolidate our saves or somethn... but i ususally don't need more than one or two anyway

i find it amusing you guys are talking about frigs and caps in the hundreds... in a 1v1 6 caps are more than in enough (yes i'm talking about on hard) and in larger battles, maybe a 6 player game, 2 fleets of 6 each is plenty - one for each side of the map i agree that right now frigs don't seem like much, but i got to remind everyone: beta-1 , keep your pants on until we get more ships in the next few releases, right now they want glitches

i hope the games don't take longer than an hour, that would effectively take all the fun away from multiplayer games (online i mean), i liked Homeworld: Cataclysm's 20-45 minute games, short enough to finish i'm also a but concerned with the lack of micro-management, i understand where they are coming from (you don't want it to just be click-speed), on the other hand, having to micro-manage adds a lot of strategy, or at least necessitates smart tactics, i enjoyed the tactical aspect of
