Still not my first choice for early game. Maybe my second though. It must tear buildings down obscenely fast with higher level weapons.
I was concerned at first but I think I dig it. I haven't played multi yet but aside from some cap ships, everything seems useful.
The advent carriers are still worth building. Bombers seem stronger than before but it could just be the ease of fielding more.
Wow. Check out the new Animna Drone Cruisers. 1200 but they carry 3 strike craft. That's interesting.
How did you manage to patch it? 1.1 was only supposed to have been tested for the English version. Did you use Impulse?
I like the new fighters and bombers. Cool way to mark a new version.
Advent, Halcyon carrier, for its energy aura, wich increases rate of fire for all energy weaopons (did you know advent love energy guns???)
And all the antiLight weapons just got an upgrade. The advent may have just gotten some much needed early-game teeth.
You sound pretty new so I'll give you the laundry list from my recent learning curve. Don't take too long to upgrade your planets. Population is the source of all income and you take a loss until you've upgraded one or two levels depending on the planet size. Try TEC. Get their early armor boosted ASAP and make a Dunov your first cap ship. It's shield ability works great on auto and makes life really hard on opponents who tend to focus fire on one target (the AI). It doesn't j
a lot of people complain that EA makes all the games now and got something like a monopol. i would pay 20 bucks more for the game if its made by EA. IT WOULD WORK AT LEAST conte
Well, sure, if you don't mind difficult-to-remove, intrusive software being installed on your computer without your permission. It's been hard, but I don't buy EA games anymore. They represent everything that is wrong and !@#$ed up wi
I haven't playing long but I don't like it either. It's hardly a time saver, given that it takes up a cap ship slot and 3000 worth of bombardment frigates are quite capable of getting the job done quickly along with whatever more useful cap ship you threw into the mix. I do enjoy its standard weapons though. All those phase missile can get brutal once they start ignoring shields regularly. I'm starting to get the impression that if you want to waste structures and other cap ships quic
Dunovs are my favorite early game choice. They do a great job of nerfing other ships, including caps and that silly shield boost ability goes a long way towards keeping that first fleet of 5 frigates alive so you can push on without delay. They pair very nicely with Marzas and if you boost lasers early on that gives them a solid boost along with any Cobalts you build. EMP followed by radiation bomb vs tightly packed enemies is brutal. An Akkan with a crapload of Javelises is usually what I wo
I'm new but um... don't let him build 80 carriers?
Ten minutes between stars? That sounds a bit extreme. Is it possible to make that variable? I realize a lot can go on in a single system but if you have ten players I imagine one system would get a bit cramped but then you'd have isolated groups duking it out for dominance in the systems they share with others before they'd dare sending fleets to other systems which turns it into a kind of ladder-style game rather than a ten player free-for-all. It would be nice if at least SP had the o
Now that I've sorted out how to get emulators working on my PSP? Damn near every game I never got around to playing from the 16-bit era. *cough* the non-ESA protected ones of course. Can't say I'm excited about any new rubbish EA has decided to make out of C&C. I guess Generals was supposed to be good but I couldn't bring myself to play it after what they did to Westwood, every other dev they ever bought out and every dev team that's ever had the misfortune to work for them.
you can make all the spelling mistakes you like but, it spelled ALCARI, with a C ! If you're not joking (total lack of punctuation/grammar makes it hard to tell) and you're talking about the Master of Orion race, I can direct you to MOO manual PDFs that say otherwise.
I haven't read the entire walkthrough yet but I hope sandbox SP mode will be more flexible than multi. It would be nice to be able to scale research costs/time too so you could have truly epic games on a massive scale when playing by yourself. Edit: Alright, I read it. The victory point win condition sounds kind of 'meh. It should be about holding the special planets for the longest time, IMO, not being the first to get there. That way you can give these games a time-limit. Spa
To be fair, I was a c**p Homeworld player HOWEVER, I will not roll over so easily in SOASE! PREPARE TO ( hopfully) ) BE DESTROYED I'll bet your first mistake was building BCs. Carrier-replaced frigates were the true powerhouse in that
A purchase-ships-and-fight mode might be interesting for players wanting quick pickup multiplayer games with a little more micro and strict attention to fleets. You could vary costs by XP levels of ships and maybe put in multiple cash infusion phases where gameplay pauses and players can purchase another set of ships. This would also be a good place for the serious clanners to really iron out what ships are best for a given situation and how best to make a balanced fleet when you don't
I had the impression from an old walkthrough that colonizers dropped resources off for colonization rather than getting cannibalized themselves.
They've definitely added some new ones, as well as altered some of the old. It looks like they've got a new colonizer for the TEC and I don't think that massive beam weapon ship was even in the original design unless it was being kept a secret.
Pherdnut? Are you from Chiken? Bawk! Yep. I thought this was the same as the old forum at first so I thought I'd forgotten my password and registered without tags. Haven't had much cause to play with the chikens for a long while but I stop in at the forums occasionally. Hopefully Sins will allow me that opportunity.
Chikens have had at least one (maybe two) girl HW players and several Mechwarrior players although one was BSing supposedly. I would guess Blizzard has probably attracted more women to its RTSes with their narrative elements than most.
Thank you. You'd think I'd suggested a dapper new hotpants idea.
Heh... This is almost appropriate, but now that I'm learning PHP I'm looking forward to telling someone, "I see your wiki has grown as big as mine." Actually yours was bigger but mine didn't have "weasel" words. Wikipedia cracks me up.
