How do you know for sure that they're TEC? They look Vasari-ish. I don't think everything in these screens are TEC.

K, how do you change the name of your planets/ships? And, look whos beta testing! Is that the Advent? I'm jelous!

And more lore! And wouldn't be cool if beta testers could upload screenshots? There is kindof a lack of them (I know there was a thread on it but I think that thread died.)

Sins should have like 4-5 betas, that would be awesome! Well, theres going to be beta 3, which will be online. If I had to guess, I'd say 4 would have the other factions and 5 would be online with all the factions (basically the full game, testing for balance issues between factions maybe).

6) There's no point in getting 2 DVD/CD drives. Just get the 1 DVD/CD RW and save the money. What is the point of the first one (plan old DVD drive)? The second one can read and write discs, so why do most computers come with two? I took away the speakers and did the other stuff you suggested to upgrade/ take away and it comes to a total of $1,406 instead of $1,459. So I could point out to my parents that I'm saving them money (its also $30

Specs are: Intel Core 2 Duo 6420 @ 2.14Ghz 2GB DDR2 Memory Nvidia 8800 GTS Thats basically what I want. I think I'll just buy a premade with a 8800. Thanks for the help guys. Sorry that I distracted everybody. So...like Kosc said...BACK ON TOPIC.

At dell I looked in the 1,000-2,000 dollar price range but the ones at buypower were still cheaper. I have no friends!!!! Jk, but I don't have any friends that can make computers.

93 Replies 101,510 Views

Crap. It may be cheaper but I think my parents don't wanna pay all of it at once... Can you pay it off over time like $50 dollars a month for 30 months? Or some other plan, it was just an example.

93 Replies 101,510 Views

I'm kinda techtarded...sorry kosc. Neither "comes" with the E6600, its extra ($70), and my parents say they aren't made of money... I dunno what you mean by 2 12 volt rails, and I don't know how many volts the standard power supply is. Yarlen, since you recomended this site, do you know the voltage of the standard power supply they give there?

93 Replies 101,510 Views

Ok, I look at some of their prebuilt ones (which are cheaper and seem to be better, but I'm no expert) and I like these two: http://www.ibuypower.com/ibp/store/configurator.aspx?mid=193 http://www.ibuypower.com/ibp/store/configurator.aspx?mid=194 I would want either with 2GBs. The second one comes with the NVIDIA GeForce 8800GTS 640MB w/DVI + TV Out Video card, which seems to be better, but I'm no expert. I want the second one more, but let me know what you guys think

93 Replies 101,510 Views

Nah, I'm not so good with what specific parts are good (btw: for both of those I would try to get my parents to upgrade them to 2GB instead of 1GB). I'll check the site out tho, thanks.

the ships have always had the factions colors!!!! O rly? kosc, you've never heard me complaining about my computer with the 5500 nvidia card? Well *cough* http://www.alienware.com/product_detail_pages/Area-51_7500/area-51_overview.aspx?SysCode=PC-AREA51-7500-R5&SubCode=SKU-DEFAULT *cough* I hope to get a new compy before Feburary '08.

w00t!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now the ships have the faction's colors on them! And there are more gibs!!!!!!! And the ship (which I don't reconize... been awhile since I played SINS) has kewl guns (or are the fighters coming out of there? Either way it looks cool)

Apperantly they're ready to go on sale in a couple of weeks (I dunno if that means to other companys, or to the public. If I had to guess I'd say it won't be to the public because, since its a new format, you'll prolly need a new thinggy to read the disc.)

It might just be fog... LMAO! Space fog!!! Sound like something from Star Trek. I do think it looks cool when your actually in the system (it looks like clouds).

Ok... so how will the gameplay be improved? If there is a thread that answers my question just give me a link. I'm feeling kinda stupid asking these questions (specially since I have the first beta and all. I can't wait to get the full game with the other factions. I'm turning 16 before the game comes out, + theres X-mas,...and I want a car. Kinda. I want something thats cheaper than that but still a over a thousand dollar *cough* http://www.alienware.com/product_detail_pages/Area-51_7500/area-5

if your not... why do you call Solar systems "galaxys"? HEY! Answer me this: Why do the solar systems have colors? If its nebula, then the nebula would be too hot for anything to exist (life i mean) inside, wouldn't? Plus I think other people have called them galaxys too. I'M CONFUSED!!! K, I circuled the n00b claw and UFOs, but what is that other thing I circuled. Kinda looks like the moon. <img src="http://i119.photob

Well, I was reading "The Economist" (a magazine) and there was an article about a new type of disc format. Its called holograhic storage (still discs like DVDs and stuff tho). The first ones will be able to store 300GB of data - "12 times more than the latest Blu-ray disvs and 60 times more than a standard DVD. And within a few years this capacity is expected to increase more than fivefold to 1.6 terabytes (1,600 GB)." The example of what 1.6 terabytes can store (taken from the article
