I really like these. Good going mate, I will install. My only concern is its hard enough getting games as it is, without trying to make it harder. That said if you want to start building a list of who has these maps I can add them as friends and look out for them. Game name is: Lord Bingo
KingBingo
Because your a turtle. I'm a turtle too, and it upsets me that every game I play I have to un-turtle myself quite a bit if I don't want to loose early.
And indeed I thank you for going that extra mile. Your also right, The other one is easier!
In games I see a lot of people talking about quitting and surrendering. What actually difference does it make?
Mp positions are supposedly a joke because its random spawn. In some occasions this is good because it encourages adaptation and inpromptu strategy to double opponents and rescue isolated allies. The sad reality is that in public games , players that are left isolated are often doubled without recieving any help from allies, and usually they just quit the game even if the opposing team is worse off with one of their players being isolated and doubled . This is usually followed by more qu
Plus, it's easier to get a game running if you log on during afternoons U.S. time.
I also notice that the player quality drops off a cliff around that time, too many casual gamers who go straight for MP without learning SP. We need to get the Koreans on Sins, those guys are hardcore!
Perhaps I'm old, but Piracy used to refer to people who SOLD copyright infringing materials, such as copied games and movies on floppydisks and video-tapes
Every week I get some Chinese guy stick his head round the door were I work and ask "DVD you want DVD yes?". Like if I was so minded to view an illegal copy I would spend £10 on his dodgy cam-recording from the cinema rather that just download the full DVD quality rip off the net! Even HMV will sell
ok seriously why do i have to follow a 10 page guide to host a dam game are we going to ever be able to host a game without going into the inner workings of my computer
Actually the 10 page thing is a little misleading. I started reading it, realised I did'nt have a clue what the guy was talking about and gave up after a few pages. The bit you actually need is only a few lines long and further down. If my understanding is correct, and well it worked for me,
I ask earlier
Have you just taken a class in Economics or are you maybe a first year Economics undergraduate? The reason I ask is your understanding of the rational model is extremely basic. ...... . Indeed if you are a first year undergraduate they often offer you the street light problem (everyone benefits no one wants to pay) or the Prisoners dilemma problem to highlight basic assumptions then proceed to disabuse you of them. I suggest pay attention in your proc
The achievment of taking down a boss or dungeon should be enough to keep people interested. For which, in an MMO, you either need to grind gear sets, or consumables, or money for either the gear or consumables
Why? Just because thats how WoW does it? I don't see why the 'need'. The achgievment could stand alone fine without some pixel reward, works fine in all single player games.
An MMO without any kind of grind cannot exist, or there will be nothing to do The difference is how heavy the grind can be.
I don't agree, grinding has its purposes in preparing you to use the basic skills your need end game. But you don't have to have it after you learn what your doing. The achievment of taking down a boss or dungeon should be enough to keep people interested. After all in the starwars films do the Jedi rush off to kill Jabba so they can
Its RUDE not to say "gg". In every RTS game ive played this is standard etiquette. Its only two letters but its an acknowledgement , like the handshake at the end of a tennis game.
Since I only talk in complete sentences I never say that, I'm not even sure what it means. I think its lacking not to bother typing a complete line of thanks after playing with someone for several hours. It only takes 20 seconds.
I used to play WOW I had a in the end a lvl 70 warrior Tank. What got me was that although I was regarded as very skilful as a Tank I ranked about the same in my guild as another guy who was definitely weak but had superb gear. His gear was really good because he invested a huge amount of time in the game. That seems to be about it in WOW you need to invest a huge amount of time in order to be at a level that allows you to experience the end game. Now I could have carried on as the gui
It is also interesting to have it confirmed that America's internet infrastructure is infinitely superior to the barbarian countries.
I see your knowledge of the world rivals your knowledge of Economics. Your clearly trying to goad people, or your simply not bright enough to see beyond your own prejudices. I hope for your sake its the former.
You are neglecting the difference between short term gain and long term gain. If you take into account the need to fund the developer, net benefit may come from a long term gain (additional content/follow-on titles) at the expense of a short term loss (paying for the game).Yep. And thanks to the mass of sucker non-pirates, I get more games to steal in the future. Even if I don't pay, I get games in the future. Why be one of the payers when it is equally valid to be a pirate? From a rationa
Never played D&D. I'm old enough to have gone to someones house once that played the real D&D but I did not get on that well with it, I did'nt travel on the same logic train as the guy running it. I ideally want to keep to the last 2/3 years if possible, older games do start to look and feel very dated before that even if you do remember them fondly. I'll start out with NWN2 if that's the newest, now I just need to find a good digital download for it, I don't suppose its on imp
Thanks, NWN2 and Baldur's gate looks interesting. Which would you say is better or more recent?
What I find most ironic about this particularly revolting peice of human nature is that the pirate never realizes that once the creative people stop making them free games, the pirates will go extinct, too.
My granny was telling me a few years back how the same argument was used when tape recorders and VCR's were introduced. I recently read a book about Tudor England where the same argument was used about written work on the introduction of the printing press.<br
Anyone care to recommend a great RPG. When the mood takes me a good RPG is absorbing and great. My all time favourites would be: Mafia (maybe the best game ever made) GTA: Vice City (a close second) Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines Mass Effects Wizardery 8 (in its day) While The Witcher left me a bit bored and Stalker never grabbed me. Are there any really good RPG out in the last year or so that I have overlooked?
I was'nt trying to imply that 15 year old's are stupid or indeed that most gamers are 15. I was implying that by sheer weight of number the causal programmer/hacker base can easily overwhelm the most complex protection very quickly. Watching game manufactures try and stop pirates by using DRM is like watching the film Zulu. Srt Major: "Fire at Will!!!!" Private: "Which one is Wil?"
The same used to be true of films. A film would appear in the US and then 3/4 weeks later they would let us British and the other Europeans not on the mainland get to see it. I remember having a slight sense of satisfaction when I discovered that the first Harry Potter film was the other way around. However, these days they would not dream of making Europe wait a month to see a film, because they know that half their audience would have already seen the film by the time they got around

I have a reasonable understanding of the single player game, and played my first online last night. Frankly I found finding any game hardwork, let alone one specifically for my kind. I understand each game can last 2-6 hours so there will be less 'free' players around.
Against an AI player I build 3 trade centres in a triangle as close as possible to the planet, Then a broadcast centre in front of that and to either side two hangers, two repair centres and two palnet shields. Then I circle these with as many turrets as I can build. Its very compact and usually means that almost every turrent can be brough to bear any ship that engages this tight cluster. The reason for this is Pirates and AI normally for straight for the trade centres, so they pile up
(moved from its own post) The wins not just a little underwhelming? You get a little box pop up and mention casually that you've won. Oh and by the way don't forget to put the cat out. I wondered if peeps agreed a little fanfare would not go amiss. Perhaps something more like in Galactic Civilisations were you get a 10 second video that just makes you feel good about the last 3 hours battling. They could hire an actor to voice over a few win conditions (James earl Jones would b
