Part of the problem with Phase Stabilizers and Dark Armada is that they give you top-tier units right away. That means that I am getting FREE cruisers and enforcers while my opponents are still a few levels below me on the tech tree. What if the Armada ability only gave you ships that you had researched? I am not 100% certain that this would work, but it might stop crazy exploits like I have been pulling off (hey, I like the Vasari :p).

15 siege frigates are EXPENSIVE. They are not building 15 of them in the first 10 minutes of the game. First of all, you need to scout, so that hopefully you can see what they're doing. When you know they're spamming frigates, upgrade your fleet and get ready to counter. Scare them off, and attack back- your fleet WILL be larger than theirs, and you should be able to do some damage. I know I'm sure as hell not that good at scouting yet. It's an ideal I'm working for. But for under 1/3 t

Copied and pasted because it was appropriate. Well, I just decided to try teching to Dark Armada in a 3v3 game (vs 3 TEC's) and it really is super powerful. Didn't research a single other tech or build a single extra building on my way there. I went from absolute last place with 3 planets getting pounded by my neighbour to taking him out just like that. I then proceeded to amass a fleet twice as large as anyone else and go on a rampage, winning the game with an ally. It definat

Being allied to AI is more annoying than fighting them. Seriously. I have had one complain to me ALL GAME about one of his planets getting (repeatedly) sieged by 6-10 units when I had no forces in the solar system and he had a freaking armada 1 jump away. He never used it, either. Lost the planet about 5 times, recolonized, and then what does he do? NOTHING. Not even a single turret. Meanwhile the fleet is just sitting there, chilling. God, I wanted to backstab him so badly.

[quote] Just an idea, but what do yall think of having upkeep scaled to the size of your fleet (as in adding more ships raises the percentage of revenue lost to upkeep, making it possible, but detrimental to have huger fleets) and the logistics research would decrease the percent effect the ships would have on how much upkeep needs to be paid? I've never had to look into this, but currently, once a logistics level is researched, you can't scale down the army to a low

It would be really nice if, once all the opponents have dropped/left/whatever and only AI is left, you won. I really can't be bothered to kill the AI, and I would like my wins :p. It is definately a lesser concern for me than any gameplay stuff you guys are working on, but it would be nice. We <3 our Devs!

Found a game and it was a BLAST! I really hope more people get online!

Sure, it's just that only 70 people online seemed rather...small. I am hoping to play this mostly with my friends (I have already gotten 2 of them addicted :p), but can't always do that. From the amount of forum traffic it seemed like it would be bigger.

I signed on to ICO for my first MP game today, and it told me there were only 72 players online and no games to be seen. I don't know if that's normal and people just aren't playing online or what, but it seems very low.

You don't have to be winning to tech up to the stabilizers and armada, although it would be harder to do if you were on the back foot. It helps to have a partner- 1v1 you just can't focus so much on research, as you have to defend yourself the entire time and there's no other targets for them to go after.

I don't have time to read through 12 pages, so I am just going to say this: harder pirates. The pirates are great and all, and maybe they do some damage to the AI, but they are a piece of cake for me to handle. Also, it seems to me like I don't always get notified when I'm being outbid. It seems kinda random whether or not I'll hear "the bounty against you has increased" and I lose a lot of bidding wars because of it that I would otherwise win, setting me back a good 5-8 minutes to deal

Sounds like an awsome game. Why don't you go program it? It sounds cool, but it's not what the dev's are trying to do, and it would be an INCREDIBLE amount of work. Don't hold your breath.

While we're talking about fleet bugs, I have one where I can't order my fleet to attack anything (devastators and the Vasari flaks, whatever they're called). If I select everyone but the fleet leader, the "attack" option appears, but select him, and I can't. If I click on anything, they just move to it (although start firing when they get there- still, very difficult to control if I want them to stay out of range). This continues even when I change the fleet leader- now the new guy can't attack.

Agreed that winning really just doesn't seem "cool" at the moment, and frequently happens when I least expect it (I don't even know that it's the last enemy world I'm destroying). Not terribly important, and gameplay comes first, but something other than "You won!" would be nice.

[quote] I'd like to suggest that in addition to there current effects that PJI's also slow the movement speed of of enemy fleets in the phase lane. E.g., if you jump within the range of an enemy PJI your phase lane movement is slowed by X percent. This would effectively give advantage to the defenders strategic movement of defensive fleets in his/her own territory. My concern here is that if you have a system with a defensive fleet and someone bypasses it giving chase can be ra
