Don't worry, we'll announce here on the forums and on the front page when the game has been released We'll make it so it's impossible NOT to know in fact. We'll be yelling it from the rooftops, posting to the forums, jumping up and down on the IRC channel etc. I
My computers got AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3200+ 2.01 GHz, 1 gig of ram hows my system going to fare? Its about four yrs oldish. Don't know what your video card is to say how the game will run for certain, but that much is just fine (same as my old machine).
Sweet! That means my CPU will be ok to! Hurrah! for Maxed out graphics and res! Amd Athlon 3200+ 2.0GHZ (64) 1

*Agreed* Yeah, I would like to thank Stardock and Iron Clad, for a few things, Mainly the fantastic support they have been providing for the Community throughout the beta process, they have stayed relevant and professional, and have done a fantastic job to keep themselves happy with their product and the community. Sins is sure to be a great game, and I have certainly gained a new favourite company. Stardock have been a fantastic publisher for this game, answering all the community's

lol maybe so. 5) TO fricken complicated to get a grasp on, looses peoples interests 6) Runs like poo for its graphics 7) Looks ugly 8) Feels ugly 9) TO heavy on the system (A waste of 8GB, 2 - 3GB on movies!)

158 Replies 129,381 Views

lol, You just blame it on my system. 1) Its on a laptop for me (dual core) so it runs like poo (10fps on lowest graphics) 2) Its on my mates server, quad core, and never hits the second core 3) It runs fine on my sole core 2.0ghz, full graphics no lag, 30fps. 4) its a crap game anyways, it takes 80mins to build a ship, stupid game!
So I'm guessing it's Tuesday for us Aussies/New Zealanders ? They stated it somewhere that it will be released in the late afternoon EST time. So that will be early Tuesday morning here in Aus and NZ. 12:00pm - 4pm Monday EST = 4am-8am Tuesday in NSW/VIC, Australia.
AHHHHH That sucks so much! Here I am staring at the count down excited

^Strange that. My mate with a quad core plays sup com, it only ever max's out a single core, my laptop's dual core is only ever at 50% too (1 core) It is an even crappier game if it supports 16 cores, but not 2 or 4

code may be gone, but if they were smart devs, they would have backed up all code, including old code. So they'd still have a backup, and its suprisingly easy to convert the old code to the new It certainly won't mean programing from scratch
Dual Core's have always been the way to go for gaming, and will be for a long time yet. Always? Wow, I didn't know we had dual cores until like, what, 5 years ago, max?
lol, thats just been picky. But always since they've been released

158 Replies 129,381 Views

yeh, BUT the code would have been there at one stage, so moddifying parts of it to work will be relativly easy

It'll run fine, highest graphics. Sin's is not demanding at all, My CPU (Sole core @ 2.0GHZ~) while running Sins idles at 80%, I can have MSN, music, Opera (Internet) and video encoding in the background just fine. My 8800GT doesn't raise temps at all (Idles at 51 Degrees C). The most demanding thing about Sins is the Ram Usage, which for me sits at 1.4GB (I have 1.5GB) and not even 1.4GB is that bad, heck, I wish all games used 1.4GB ram (Unlike Crysis using 2GB)

28kbps? Thats not funny. I got a really annoying slow Broadband connection, that compared to that is almost instant load lol Put it this way, my 256kbps (@31kbps Download) will do the game (~2GB) in about maybe 10 hours So i'll be stealing alot of bandwidth from you guys lol :p

Yeah, I agree with the whole Fighter/Bomber thing, I don't notice it much as I find it difficult to get Fighters/Bombers, but then I always just get general purpose attack frigates, and capital ships :HOT: I personally think that Capital Ships should be able to get more then one fighter/bomber squad from the start, rather then 1. But ohwell, its not to bad, the fighters are good enough to protect the capital.

If Sins supports 4 cores it IS the first game ever, not even Crysis or FarCry 2 support 4 cores, its simply to hard to program and split all the operations and calculations into different cores. Dual Core's have always been the way to go for gaming, and will be for a long time yet. Also, I found that file about 15 mintues before you PM'd me, changed it, and I got upto 3000 ships, no lag, No Bullsh*t. Although I did change the number from 2000 to 4000, I made it to 3000, before I

lol, I couldn't really care, I'd kill him first. But most discussion's ive read in forums all dev's refer to a thread as a core, and from my programming if I make a program multi threaded (2 threads) it runs on 2 cores... It's how ive been taught, its what I understand/beleve. Education is different in America as to what it is here.

158 Replies 129,381 Views
lol, that 25% is 100% of a single core, one of your 4 are maxed out. But Quad's are really bad for gaming as they are underpowered and no game supports 4 threads yet, which is where dual cores come in, but in sins it won't make difference until it is multi threaded. - SoaSE is actually using 15 threads lol, no it doesn't you dont have a 15 core CPU, that reading woul

If they already had it ingame, then its even easier to incorperate, It would only detract from game playing time if it was an ingame feature, having in menu would be alot better, and possibly increase sales as this is an awesome feature that many people love, but sadly few games provide. I can't see any balance issue's in this, as they are mearly using pre-determined specs for the weapons etc, you basically painting your 'hero', giving it weapons (limited to a certain amount, based on ship m
Well for all to play it on some reasonable frame rate, i do think a ship limit is really needed. Have you ever tried running 1000 scouts? well that drains the life out of your system.. imagen if 10 players did that KAABOOM... If you and someone else agree that you dont like the limit, just mod it to 10,000 or 10 gazzilions and enjoy a never ending game <IMG onload="ImageResizer.createOn(this);" src="http://images.stardock.com/smiles/BigSmile.gif" bor
