Hey all! I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right place or not, so if I'm wrong I apologize. I have installed GalCiv2 with my Impulse account. I know there is an option to archive the install so I can save it off somewhere and re-install it without having to download it again. I'm just curious if I have any mods or anything like that if they will be in the archive. I have created some custom races and a custom ship style, and it would be great if those carried over with an archiv

Hello all! I only have one Metaverse character, and he has been a member of the Kzinti Empire for a while. I was looking for the Empire's forums, and I tried to go to the link and it says I do not have access. How would I gain access to this forum? I wanted to ask a few questions. If this is posted in the wrong place, I apologize. Thanks all!

That does make sense about the movies. I did just look and noticed that none of the pre-packaged minors had them. Using this same method of editing the RaceConfig.xml file, can I create more major races? It would be kind of cool to start a game with X number of random opponents and see some of my own custom races show up. I have a feeling that would take a bit more modding though than just changing an XML file! :) Thanks for all your help!

OK, I played around with this today and I got some of it to work, but not all. I edited my RaceConfig.xml and I copied the Snathi, just for a starting point. I pasted the Snathi section to the end of the file, and changed the to be one more than the last one in the file. I did this multiple times, adding about 8 custom minor races to the file. For each one I incremented the by one. I started a new game with cheats enabled, and set it up to

That does help! I wasn't sure if I could just add as many as I wanted or if there was a limit. Thank you very much!

Hello all! This is my first post in the Modding section, so please be gentle! I want to add a few new minor races to my game. I have race portraits and logos ready to go, along with names and everything. Can I just go into the RaceConfig.xml, copy an existing minor race (like the Akilians, for example), change some names around, and paste as many as I want into the file? I see each race has a RaceID, so I'm guessing I'd have to change that to something unique. Is there anythin

It's a Twilight game, and it's the latest version. Any ideas? I'm afraid to start a new one in case I have the same issue again. Thanks!

Ah gotcha. Thanks! I'll just have to do an aural cross referencing then between the disc and the game folder. I'll post up the compiled results here for others' reference and upload the track list to CDDB.
This would be great. I don't have the actual disc since I've been playing a while and didn't buy the Ultimate Edition (since I had the game already). However, all the music is in .mp3 files in the program install

I was just reading through this thread and there is a lot of great info here. I did think of a question though. You guys who have experience, do you build labs at all early in the game? Do you just build all factories or all econ, and get all your research points just by focusing your planets? If so, at what point do you start building labs, and when you do, do you build all-lab planets like you do with econ? Thank you in advance for your help!

Lol,this is why directions should never be writen by people who know what their doing-only people who know what they're doing can understand them. Examples within each step would help alot. Change the value to something unique? Of what part of the xml? The whole thing? Change to bob? Would love to try these steps, but,as written would just trash my game. Thanks though,I do think your hearts in the right
