It's a shame that this game has such poor modding support anymore especially in regards to anything that isn't editing text files. With proper modding support for the industry standard this wouldn't have been a problem and we wouldn't have to resort to using year-old tools. Offer still stands but I understand totally that that's not a viable option for anything more than like one ship because exporting is often.
I'd love to see something similar to the war, i.e. early german ships are by far and away inferior to other races (mimicking their poor quality tanks compared to the russian t-34, and even france to an extent) but they are strategically more sound... but I'm not sure what bonuses could represent that exactly. I'm glad you're not doing the classic "archetype" model that most games tend to throw their races into though. A fluctuating power

Yes, that would be an easy way to do it but would require all antilight weaponry to not do damage. Also annoying I suspect because it would target those ships just not do any damage.
that I know of, thier is no way to get a NORMAL weapon to only fire at a fighter. Abilities are differnt, in the Ability file, thier should be a couple lines that list the types of targets that can be targeted. This can be manipulated so the ability can only target fighters. Have you read Ironclads Introduction to modding? If not, I sugest you do.
have you read the ori

Use a missile effect but make the travel particle a beam? Missiles do "miss" so that's your best bet. Think autocannons do too.

no, mirroring people's work without their permission is poor form and unprofessional, people submit their files to sites they wish to have their work on. with small mods this isn't a problem but if you do it for TCs you will quite quickly run into some problems. back in the EaW days I submitted my maps to Filefront and saw them spread across the internet with readmes not attached, incorrect descriptions, incorrect authorship, etc etc. an author of a work has the right to choose where

hurf durf they have the right to replace your game executable with a popup hamster too It's not a debate about natural rights. It's a debate about whether the policy will prompt some people to no longer have interest in titles. If people feel shafted by it they won't buy SD products just like if people feel shafted by EA or whatever they won't buy the game either.

Because since 1.05 Sins has had a number of absolutely crucial stability, modding, and bugfixes. If danman doesn't want to update 7DS that's his perogative but modding after the patches has significantly improved and the game has become much more stable.
