You have a wife already? Jesus. You are 19 right? According to your profile, at least. I like coding, but I do it for a living, after coding for 8 hours in a day, I just want to rest when I get home. On weekends I like to go out, so it gives me very little time to code anything for a 3rd party ;P.

XML would be better, definitely; however, it would be hard for them to switch to it. Their ConvertData, engine, and entire game structure is based off parsing the files in their given format. It won't happen, simply put. It would be nice if they opensourced the convertdata tool, since I could then put it into my program; however, I do not see that happening. Happy coding! -Ian

Well, when it saves, it probably overrwrites the file (which creates a new file). It is encountering some problem when it tries to do that... Hmmm. Do you have proper permissions to delete the file?

Well, to answer your second question, the file is probably read only. Right click on it and go to its properties, then uncheck read only. -Ian

I am not an experienced modder with sins; however, from what I recall from reading a few things around the forum, most of the AI behavior is hard coded into the game. You can change how it behaves in certain instances, I assume; however, what you can do is very limited. If I am wrong, someone please correct me. -Ian

You should convert it to VB.NET :P You will get a speed improvement as well as better compatibility. No more people bugging you for runtime files ;).

No problem, and douchebag is definitely not the right term to describe the overlook :P.

Do you have "Show Hidden Folders" checked in your folder view options?

I went ahead and looked up the support statement on VB6 in Windows XP, Vista, and server 2008. In general, you will see that VB6 should work properly on Vista in most cases; however, microsoft acknowledges that compability issues can exist with the following statement: "The Visual Basic 6.0 runtime has been tested for compatibility between Windows XP and Windows Vista / Windows Server 2008 with a goal that applications work similarly on these operating systems. As with any release of

I never said that it will always introduce issues. I simply stated that it only does that. It can introduce zero or more compatibility issues. VB6 is outdated, and all it does is introduce compatibility issues. This statement is sound and any attempt to debunk will be a failure. Vista supports the VB6 runtime, for VB6 applications (referred to as "legacy" applications); however, the runtime libraries are not updated. The last update to the runtimes was in early 2004,

The comdlg32.ocx nonsense is because he is using an outdated programming language, VB6. Why he is using it... I don't have the slightest idea. All it introduces is compatibility issues for the .NET based Vista and even SP2 and beyond XP. Whatever, point is, you need to find that comdlg32.ocx and put it in the right directory. I think there are directdownloads for it somewhere. As for me, the moment I saw that message and the default vb6 icon, I shut the pr

Well, I have run into a bit of an annoyance. This will probably push back the beta a day. Sucks. Anyway, For some reason, you cannot easily edit subitems in a listview. The only control powerful enough for proper editing of subitems with a treeview and listview combined is the FlexGrid by ComponentOne studios. This costs money to use. A few hundred dollars, iirc. Thus, I am not going to use it. Designing my own component is possible, but it is something

I'm late with the beta anyway. I hope to get it out today. I went to USJ (Universal Studios Japan) all day yesterday... lol. By the time I got home, it was almost 12 AM, so I called it a night. I really hope to get it finished today.

Ill couple it with whatever mod tools I find useful that I am allowed to couple with. I will not be doing it in the first release. This will be in a "bonus" release of sorts, after I release v1.2 with all features I promised included. I would love to use your ConvertXSI gui.

Hey beta testers! I will have a beta for you today :). Can you guys message me with some sort of contact info? (Those who haven't already). It would be great if you could test live with me (in MSN or something). That way I can fix something fast and get a first version out in a few days. Thank you -Ian

Awesome. That makes things easier. I will leave it up to the user to know whether or not they are using something compliant with entrenchment, since it is a 3rd party program to Sins Editor, I do not need to mess with it :D. Thank you! -Ian

Quick question: Is there any difference between the forge tools 1.1 convertdata.exe and the 1.12 convertdata.exe besides the ability to convert entrenchment files? I saw that Annatar said the new one takes an extra parameter; however, from my own testing, the parameter count is the same for both files. If there is no difference in parameter count, then I can remove the switch between entrenchment/vanilla in my sins editor, making my life easier. Please get back to me asap, tha

Some games work with overclocks, some don't. It might be another issue, sure; however, you should save your bios profile and try running at default clocks just to see if that does indeed fix the problem. You can restore your bios profile afterwards, so you don't have to do any real work. If it is the overclock, you can try upping your voltage a tiny bit.
