Holy crap lol,i'm in for this, but if you get the map done before then, tell me so i can see if my computer can handle it, Sounds really epic lol.

Well, assuming the enemy doesn't just walk right on by said chokepoint, then.... 30 Minutes - Colonize as much as possible, build 2-4 Civil labs, get a trade center at every planet you have, upgrade planet infrastructures and look for ice and volcano's to sell resources on market. 1 Hour - Assuming your friend has managed to keep you safe, research those resource extracting things, and make sure to build refineries were possible. 2 Hours - i'd stop at 1 hour,
I wonder if i played you yesterday...i did this very same thing vs your Progenitor Mothership, but anyways. The simplest way is to just use the frigates that can nuke antimatter, since it requires 75(i think) Antimatter to activate, early on most cap ships will be level 1,so it's unlikely he'l have the gravity ability aswell, and if he does he'l waste alot of antimatter. On another note....you could just turn tail and run, noone's forcing you to fight him(unless he's sieging you,b
Yeah....there's flak frigates just for that purpose, capitals shouldn't be the do all-end all ships.
Have to agree, also need to reduce their hp ammounts, i'm sick of losing colonies to swarms of 15-20 bombers who just run in,kill the planet, then move onto the next one. please make phase inhibitors stop all outgoing traffic!
No,you'll get some massive fights, i'm playing a 1 vs 9 with 9 hard AI's and me being vasari, and right now i have 4 attacks of varying sizes at 4 key locations, fat least each fleet has 100 to 150 ships, some including up to 8 capitals, and i'm running around trying to counter them all,and still put up an offensive.
I've been playing with the different styles aswell, and i noticed you only see a major difference when playing vs the Hard AI, anyways Researcher climbs tech tree fast as possible, getting the latest and greatest he can. Economy tries to colonize as much as possible,in as short a time spam as possible Aggresive will constantly attack you, and might try a rush very early on Fortifier will turtle himself in,building lots of defenses and leaving big fleets at home
You might have the AI on easy mode maybe? Not sure Anyways, to get to the other solar systems, you need to research long-range jumps(or whatever race your playing's), then you take a ship to your system's star, and then right click on the star(or planet) at the other system.
TEC - Focus on economy, and have some very heavy ships(Kodiak, Kol), also have the Novalith cannon, which used in huge numbers....are overpowered. I prefer to use them in small to medium maps. Advent - Focus on shields more then armor, use lasers and drones as main weapons, when their capitals meet their support cruisers, you get a close to unstoppable army. Deliverance engine is less then awesome, but has it's uses i suppose. Prefer to use Advent for medium games only. Vasari
1. There's no campaign, althought i've heard that there might be one in the future. 2. no idea 3. if your just starting,i'd suggest you ignore support cruisers,or not make many of them, as that's where things get extremely complicated. 4. Hotkeys, not trying to do everything at once(if i'm under attack,i stop everything that takes my eyes away from that fight for more then acouple seconds), Empire tree is a big help, since you can do basically everything from there, Pin
That's a pretty impressive trap What's a PJI?
Phase Jump Inhibitor, Well done
Have you been upgrading your planet's infrastructure? if not then you'll be losing credits(run your mouse over the credits pool to see where your income is, and where your losing credits)
the AI takes over if they quit game(not sure if it takes over when they surrender)
Wow....the multiplayer fails on so many levels.... 1. I can't host any games(and don't tell me to open my ports,i've done that a hundred times) 2. I can't join someone else's games(some i can join) 3. everytime i kill the goddamn host, the game goes to that migrating crap, and i'm forced to quit the game because it just stays there. 4. The game drops constantly 5. Players drop constantly These things, make me wanna get the disk, break it in half and eat it. I'm t
Your one of hundreds of people having this issue, people give the same generic response to open ports, but no actual explanation on how to go about it(as if i know how to do this crap), i'd just wait for a fix or a detailed guide.
From what i can tell, you can whisper from lobby to a game, they just can't respond to you.
X-play reviewed Sins of a Solar Empire Today, giving it a 4/5 [link="http://www.g4tv.com/xplay/reviews/1718/Sins_Of_A_Solar_Empire.html"]WWW Link[/link] Enjoy(P.S. if this is posted elsewhere, just delete)
Your thinking the right way, just on too small a scale,if you take only 3 planets, that leaves 16 for the AI,and they make very good use of everything they have, i'd suggest expanding as much as 5-6 planets, meanwhile building up your fleet(of frigates likely), and i would invest 33% military,33% economy,33% planets, you really do need all 3 to be successfull the entire game.
Great fun,and i can't wait to destroy that fleet you sicked on my ally :HOT:
My first 10 minutes as advent go something like 1. Build a capital factory 2. Build and send out 2 scouts 3. Queue up the metal and crystal harvesters 4. build 3 of them frigates(the ones after the scout) 5. build that mothership 6. send them off to nearby belts 7. Get at least 3 planets before 10 mins is up 8. start pumping out Drone cruisers, carriers, revelations battlecruiser and 2 motherships, upgrade them
You can just scroll out and then right click on the other system's sun, or any planet within it.
The problem isn't so much that i can't kill them,it's more along the lines of, they come in with capitals, said capitals go down and they run.....no ammount of units or guns will stop them all, to be honest.....a phase inhibitor should inhibit, not slow down.
Hey, just wondering if there's any reliable tactics to annihilating those irritating npc frigate blobs(assume at least 60 frigs), it gets annoying because if you have more, they won't even fight,if you have less your support just melts, and the minute you bring down a couple capitals, they turn tail and run,you could chase them but they'll more then likely still get away. Nuke plz
