Blair, This is awesome that you wan to hear from us. I agree with Uzii and finding those dumps so we can see exactly what cuased the error. A changed log from you guys would be great, as well as having stuff up front before or when the update comes out. That is why we need Ironclad to give the ok or the original files, and once this happens. I'm sure the mod community will explode with new mods, especially once the particle editor comes out along with the completed forge tools. DANMAN

I know you guys are probalby worried about copyright laws and people ripping off your work, but we in th modding community only have the game and the gamers interests at heart, plus its not like we are going to make money off the mods, they're all free. Thank you very much for the XSI instruction, and thank you for starting a dicsussion about releasing the source XSI files. Blair, I just read through the PDF's, and thank you. Thank you for giving a tutorial on how to use the Soft Image XSI software! Now I can make my own models from scratch. However, is there any way I can use the original ship MESH files as a starting point. I tried to us XSI to open the MESH files, but they don't reconize them. Diresaint, Thank you very much for the instruction. This is VERY helpful. Unfortunatley I am trying to do the reverse, convert the MESH files into XSI so that I can edit the original ship files. I want to use the original ships as a starting point, and come up with modified versions first, then move on to brand new models. If you now how to do this, or anyone who does, please post! Pnakotus: I love your ideas. I plan to use Uzii's new planets mod to increase the different planet types ad bonuses, and Bailknight's graphical mod to change up the graphics. rantzzz1998, Ah... the Stellar Converter. This made all those Death Star dreams come true. Saikou: Yes, the Alterans were more of a peace-loving race, and only attacked when provoked, in which they would wipe out all in their path. The Atlantians that I am designing actually fullfill this role, so your interests are at heart. With this race, it will take the player an increadible long time to amass a fleet, due to EVERYTHING costing triple in order to balance the system. So you would have to be peaceful, until you have the power to decimate the race that ticks you off later on.

UPDATE: Hi everyone, I have been busy trying to get things to mesh well, and deal with the new update from Ironclad. Here are some new screenshots. The Carrier is now done, now known as the Atlantian Hive ship. The Capital ship factory is also done, costing 3 times the normal amount, and taking 3 times as long to build. To all who have replied so far: I am SOOOO glad I am not the only one who misses MOO2. And yes, the did make MOO3, but it was horrible. The space exploration and the planet graphics were good, even better, but the battles absolutley sucked. ManSh00ter, Congrats so far, a very interesting mod. I see that you got the whole "adding a race" thing down. I would love to download this when it is available. How are you creating the 3D models? They look awesome. Also, did you create them from scratch, or did you load in the game's original files as a base. Captain and Pious, Thanks for that idea. If I have time I will experiment with gold and white colors to give them a "noble" look. Since they are Atlantians, they should probably look "wise", since they are more advanced than anyone in the galaxy and created many races themselves. DANMAN
