Reply to Game oddities in Strategy

I find it oddly soothing to zoom in on my trade drones and watch them zip from planet to planet. Try it some time while you're waiting for upgrades or ship production or whatnot.

This only goes to show you that, yes, as the human race gets older, originality will continue to approach zero. Eventually, our great x 10^10 grand children will live in a world where no one will ever have an original thought, see an original television program, or be to an original place that hasn't been thought, seen, or been to before. The Masters of Orion games had no campaign. Alpha Centauri, widely acclaimed as the Best Game Ever Made Ever, had no campaign. Sure, they both had in-game stories you could follow, but they didn't have a dedicated mission-based structure. Both of those were stellar (har har) 4X games. Sins is a 4X game st in real ime, so why should it have a campaign when it doesn't need one?

The one thing I'd like to see (what we're probably going to get anyways) is The "Shadows", the strange... [I]thing[/I] that's been dogging the Vasari all these millenia. Man, I had to go to six different places before I finally found somebody who had a copy of this game in stock (I finally tracked it down at Super Target. Take that as you will). My Suggestion: When I queue up long lines of research and then promptly forget what order I queued it in, its very difficult at times to find the flashing yellow box that shows me what's being researched.
