as a note to anyone who has their CD still, i went on ebay to try to get a copy thinking "the game is ten years old, if it is even on here it is going to sell cheap since it is forgotten" boy was i wrong. I has become a collectible, sells for around $45 alone, i saw one with the game guide for $70. so if you still have the CD keep it in good condition.

I can't seem to run galaxy forge. I download it and unzip it using winace, but when i click on the application it immediatally says GalaxyForge has stopped working. does anyone know why this happens and how to fix it?
Just wondering why when you are upgrading something that affects starbases the listing is "starbases upgraded: all" are they hinting that different types of starbases are on the way? or is that just for modders convenience, either way i would love another type of starbase, maybe each race has 2 starbases, one more naturally designed for combat, the other for economy. just wondering what was going on.
I am having a problem with galaxy forge too. whenever i try to start it it says that it has stopped working. i have tried running as an administrator, compatibilety, etc, and nothing will let me use it.
i figured it was there, i just thought it was funny that it said "everything" and you couldn't see the disk.
am i the only one that noticed no disk? lol [e digicons][/e]

love it, wish they would make another one but it was apparently considered a failure along with star wars themed street fighter. played multiplayer at a friends house and it was really fun even though he always killed me.

For the most part the exp. in sins works very well. light frigates (cannon fodder) are worth 30. heavy cruisers (almost cap ships) are worth 100. siege frigates are not a combat threat but kick you if you loose on your own planet, 65. suppourt ships are worth around 50 (dont remember exactly). anti-strikecraft are worth around 45 (again dont remember) since they are the first line against your strike craft which are hard to destroy. etc. every ship has an experience value that equates well to
It still is the same system, however in a 4 player 4 star system you shouldn't reach max unless you are turtling for a long time. It seems that the main problem was that when an AI was outmatched (even by a scout) they would run and make you chase them through the galaxy. that also made me stop playing for a while. that seems to have been fixed in entrenchment. they still run but that is usually after you double their strength. they might have also fixed that in the original (vanilla?) when t
I think it depends on your play style. I like to turtle and entrenchment is a defensive expansion so I am having a blast with it. If you are more aggressive it will still be a big improvement but you may just want to wait untill another expansion comes out. I have noticed that the enemy retreats a lot less in entrenchment (but that may have changed in the original (vanilla?) at the same time.
I usually try to keep my space smallish, i try to find a balance of choke points and resources. try to keep entries into your space down to 2 or 3 planets (4 if you have a great advantage.)
you can find out who is fighting (or being fough) by putting a little bounty on everyone and see who's drops first. it wont tell you who is fighting who but you can usually deduce as much as you need.
in regular sins i had noticed a lot of cases where if the AI was even slightly outmatched it would automatically retreat. this usually led to me sending my fleet through all their planets undefended untill the last one, at which point i had whittled their forces to nil. have not noticed this as much in entrenchment though. While it does make sense to run away from a fight where you are outmatched, it makes more sense to send in reenforcements.
If you are using a lot of mines it could be a threat prioritizing issue. the ai sees thousands of something so it builds more of the counter to it but i am not a programmer so i dont know if that is even how it works. it does bring me to a small gripe of my own though. Mines make a planet's defences look a lot stronger than they are since 10 mines makes the same amount of ticks on the structures area (when zoomed out) as 10 hangers.
when you come home and say "reenforcements have arrived."
Thanks, i didnt realize there was a limit on the length.
it has always annoyed me when an extra planet gets a trade port in the middle - but out of the way - of a trade rout and is not included, but in a recent game my trade routs litterally stop for no reason. I took this screen shot, hopefully it helps. every planet i own has a trade port on it, and every non-planet in my (red) culture also has a starbase with the trade port upgrade, but the trade port just stops here is the independent link just in case: http://farm4.stati
