Well basic assaults and anti-fighter frigates are cheaper, so it's relative easy to counter, and when things got rough they can always just destroy your carriers and run.

Nooooo, you get your battle ships. Lol, just go get them, you will be in battle constantly. In small maps, what are you waiting for? Til your colonize abilities hit 3rd level and no where to use them?

Armistice is da bomb, it's an ulti with range, so you can affect let's say all of his fleets but only half of the structures in the gravity well, so all you need to do is to sent in another fleet and destroy the unaffected structures for a good 30 to 60 seconds. Plus it doesn't affect culture bonus right? So that's 60 seconds of anti matter recharge for the TEC, if you are under your culture. You can pretty much solo your Akkan into a system, embargo and bomb the p

Well in the situation when you have to retreat the fleet leaders, just "de-fleet" the leader from its fleet in the fleet management box. It's the same button as the form fleet button in the management box. I know Ctrl + maybe a better way in the beginning, but as the game go on, it's really difficult to keep track of your control groups without the fleet system. Karma man, I want Karma

Since this thread is about Cobalt and Kodiaks, I presonally think instead of letting Basic Assualt frigates to 50% of damage to V heavy armor, they should or the siege units able to do 100% to V heavy units. My mean, come on, it's the siege units of all, shouldn't they be the ones who blow up the V Heavy guys? This way, Cobalt would actually be able to play a role by counter the V Heavy units, instead of just the bombers. I like to think the strikecrafts are kinda different

Ah ha, finally a real reply to the topic in hand. I came to realize the same math, that's why I have made the thread in the first place. Since the recent touch up on all the carriers, plus Kol's primary weapon is it's powerful auto cannons, I really want to reach the auto cannon weapons for the TEC asap, that's why I wanted to know the best time to reach the Advanced Metallurgy. Do you think I should skip LRM and go straight to carriers in such research route, in con

Well you can't do that, b/c what happens when you are adding bounty to a dying opponent, the moment he was wiped out? The pirates will never give you your money back, lol. Besides the money are contributing to the next raid I think. But I don't know
I agreed with Reply #2, with the caviate that sometimes you should upgrade instead of increase fleet supply.
Wow, I have to say, I haven't really thought about the balance btw fleet supply and fleet up grades, lol. Since in the early games you only have to deal with only one front maybe it is a good idea to up grade your ships than inceasing your ship supply. But then again, you will have a hard time t

Here is the thing I think: I am trying to learn so much in this game, and having so much fun posting my strategies and experience on this forum, I don't really miss any campaign whatsoever. My mean, do we really need a campaign to teach our all the little details of this game? Figuring out the cool researchs and ships on my own is one of the greatest joy this game can ever give me. I love how I finished my very first Novalith cannon and watch it turns to my hated enemy plane

Pointless, you would lose if you try to rush trade ports like that, especially up against the unfairs. 6 frigates in the beginning equal death.

Hopefully, Entrenchment would fix the static defense of the game, b/c right now with bombers and fighters those things are useless, even in the beginning.

LOL, PointlessAgony you suffered a pointless agony b/c as TEC your empire shins in economy not your fleet. Besides, you were up against 12 VASARI caps with only the puny 5 tec caps, what did you think would happen? Your Marza probably died right away, lol. Tell you what, as the big bad TEC? Just pump out your super duper Kodiaks with Gardas man, those are your super weapons, with Hoshi they are like the iron great wall of China. Lastly, but not the least, d

I am very curious as for when do you guys starting to upgrade your fleets' hull, armor or shield. Do you upgrade right away when it was available, which help your ships to suvive longer right away. Or waite till later, so the upgrade will pack more bang for your bucks, b/c of more ships will be sharing the benefits from your upgrades. I know different map or the size of the game may be asking for different route, so we can take this topic as deep as we want. I for on

Dunov is meh, but what the hell is going on with Akkan's Targeting Uplink? The aura is so useless, first of all, you rarely run into problems with accuracy in this game, unless you are trying to shoot down strike ships. The aura need work, since it doesn't even stack, or does it? No one wants to target uplink, b/c friends won't let friends do that.

I am chilling with 1.095 right now, I would rather get use to the new stuffs before the big bad patch drop later of this month.

I think you should always get the Battleship as your first cap and pump out the colbalt like mad man, then Lrm or anti-strike in the beginning. Then turtle till trade ports. I just don't like to fight the illums, I don't like the odds till I go carrier. Advent can't match your Lrm production speed, you should always win that race. TEC has better planet upgrades, and and you just can't beat TEC's trade ports with culture, b/c of the other upgrades.&n

I was playing in a single star medium sized map, and deployed trade post on all of my planets. I have 4 planets linked by trade networks over the star, they postioned themselves about 18 degrees to each other with a asteroid without the trade post in the middle, and it worked perfect fine, but another two planets on the opposite side of the star wasn't linked. All the 6 planets should be linked since they are all basically connected by the star. What happened? &nb
True, but I've noticed a lot of times when the pirates are left alone by the empire ships in the same gravity well and the pirates are not attacking them either, so there must be some sort of unofficial truce in effect. So if they had to run the guantlet to get to me, I'd expect them to find plenty of planets where they are not fired apon. In fact, I hazard a guess its only the planets/empires where they raid a lot that will fire at them as th

Umm I had problems with hard AI as well. Then I actually try to finish some of the missions, which resulting in alliances and resources from my AI allies. Never stop producing ships, and don't make too many mistakes. I actually likes to play D as tech and build up my fleets, so don't forget to build the repair bays. You need at least two separate fleets in the beginning to handle their rushes (Single fleet works wonders, too). I keep on needing more metals
