Or do what i just done in a game.. In theory the attacker will have LRM's Lights and a cap ship. If your advent the easy solution is Mothership+Malice and Illums... target the cap ship, set of malice and watch the LRMS pop :D Granted might be hard as TEC have better economy and Advent need 3stations to get Illums and there pricy but if you can do it it works wonders.. I just done it in a end game,Carrier + Mothership+Malice@25% and 100Illums against 3capships
The way the game starts is fine, and speeding up ships in gravity wells is not a good idea either, many a time i have had a enemy fleet take 30seconds to cross my gravity well to reach my defence only to find i jump my main fleet in right on top of them from the planet next door :D You could always ask for a optional speed adjustment, like in AOE and such, 3settings 1/1.5/2 have it locked or unlocked before the game and you can just goto 2X speed at the start for a bit if everyone agree

dont know why people always want the best. I bought my pc 8months ago and i am still able to outperform most pc's nowadays.. it is all about setup.. I went watercooling, 12fans and 2rads. I am happily sitting on my Q6600 @ 3.4ghz can push it to 3.8-4.0 but no need. 8800GTX overclocked past a Ultra, 2gb 1150mhz OCZ Memory on watercooling @ 5-5-5-10 I dont even have a good motherboard.. i got a Asus P5K Premium Wi-Fi (Intel P35 - 1333 FSB) And i get well over 18k on 3d
Edit: Made them retreat after taking out 1/3 of there fleet, if you want the save game back let me know :)
Running the save game now as we speak, using 94% ram and 25% cpu, no issues, will have to repelay and actually play it instead of have it play out while i post. Shame your other feet is 4jumps away would of beena better fight :)
you would be wise to sell it to someone in the uk if your not in uk yourself. the 60gb version has been discontinued here so would make someone rather happy to get one :)

Everyone seems ot blame everyone here.. try some diagnosis.. What driver version of nvidia is cydr running? Form what he says he is running the latest version, i am not, i am running the version previous.. This _could_ be the issue, i have seen many problems like this solved via drivers.. some work better some dont, geta screeny with the new drivers, get a screeny with the older drivers then we can rule that out.. and go from there.. We need evidence, not chit cha
The mod is a bit borked :) Construction ships are really slow so in a larger gravity well it takes ages.. None of the resources go up, you start with 0 supply, and the black market gives all -11214998 figures..
Don't know if it has been mentioned before, btu something very simple. when i double click a ship. like a Kodiak, it selects all in the viewable area or gravity well.. usefull when i want to tell all my lrms to attack one thing and kodiaks the other when i dont have them grouped.. or justs o i can select all ym bombers after thye have been replaced during a fight as you cant just drap a selection box aroudn them with normal ships in the same area.
Space Empires had this, but that was turn based and the research tree was fking huge. Would be great, but Stargate mod should accomidate this with wraith :)
Depending on the faction you choose scouts/colonizers can capture them. For TEC and Advent i think use a colonizer you will see a second symbol next to colonize with is crew extractors or something, it is enabled as standard so will work after i think 60anti-matter. For vasari the scouts have that ability.
You could try a system cleanup, remove tsr's (msconfig) do a defrag, scandisk, run regscrub, all the usual stuff. Is your ram actually running at specified speed, and the timming are at there optimal (Check overclock forums for your model, delivered ram is not always as specified on there site) I am running a slightly better system but get no issues, i am running sins in window mode 1280*1024 everything on max, with irc, msn, ie and some other hogging programs (Steam, xfire) an
fraps is the answer.. No matter what game you fraps you always geta decrease in performance, well you did when i used to use it on Counter Strike. You can easily shave 15-20FPS off what you would expect to get if you use fraps.
this is probably best suited to Stragey forum.. Personaly when i play any race i dont use many defence turrets, i generally block my important structures together, surround them with hangers and repair bays, and if i have spare tac points i dump a turrent there too. For the rate of fire, and damage turrets are not that usefull, if you protect the hangers with repair bays then they will do more damage over time, and are a pain to kill if covered by 4-5 repair bays.

Question in regards to this. For all of us Europeans (I'm in UK) who purchased a Digital Download, does this mean we will have local distributers to obtain our hard copies of the manual, music cd and game by paying the differance, or will it still have to be shipped form the us?
If you have pirates turned off, you will stil get pirate bases, you just wont get any raids. If you had them on and it shows them as dead but there is still a base, i dont know :( I had this with a Huge map i was playing, killed 3AI and only one showed up as dead on the diplomacy screen. Might be a bug.

Pirate raids dont use any ships found in the pirate base. everytime a raid is launched seperate ships are spawned for the raid. Hence why there is no shipyards at the base yet they raid all the time :)
No problem, thanks for quick replies I understand how you feel given your explinations. with being ina nd out of clans/guilds/fleets since 1999 i know what its liek to have something liek this tarnish your name. I to hope this can be resolved soon.
