Late in the game, is it typically considered better to have max cap ships and then cap your fleet pop with other units, or is it more beneficialy to get to a "special number" of caps (maybe 10 or so?) and then just do frigates/cruisers for the rest?
I would say you need to be adaptive. Assuming you scout well early, look at the planets: are there any ice or volcanic close by? If so, you'll probably want artic or volcanic exploration soon (which means 2 civic labs for TEC). Another upgrade you probably want semi-early is the PSIONDIC (SP?) early detection "radar." Very helpful to know when people are enroute to you. Beyond that, it would depend on your map size. If the map is large enough where you'll have some time before
Hey There, Quick question (with 2 scenarios) regarding TEC fleet make-up. Basically, what is the ideal number of each ship to have? I am often confused regarding how many of each I should get. So, let's look at that question in two scenarios: 1) At 5 available cap-ships (mid game-ish), what would you have? 2) If the game goes extremely long, how many of each at max capacity? Thanks!
Good Day, I am a new player and so far seem to prefer TEC as my "side." I typically play against RL friends and most of our games are played on rather large maps, even if 1v1 (we are mainly drawn to the idea of playing 1 very, very long game instead of several short ones.) What I like the most about the TEC is their superior economy. While some of the other sides may have more powerful or useful ships later in the game than I do, I find the ability to have lots of resour
