I'd do it myself, it's just I need a team for all the models, skins, textures, and stuff. I can do general coding and direct people easily, but I won't be able to do it alone.

If it was that bad with lag just from those, I wonder what it would look like with ALL those Sathanas like in the game. Wouldn't even be funny.
The Vasudans would have enough stuff for sure, they only have about five separate bomber and fighter classes though and that would be the only real problem as far as balance goes.
lol you mean your wingmen that are either yelling for help or busy pwning something? I've found the voice acting to be very well done, actually. It all sounds believable, not like they're reading a script or something. The AI was pretty intelligent too, it wasn't the best, because it couldn't be, but you could count on them to cover your back for you or distract the enemy when you needed it.
I made alliances with two of the AI, but lost them due to having contradictory missions. That's the reason I can never maintain my alliances. I get allied with AI 1, then here comes AI 2 and allies with me as well. I'm in a Cease Fire with the two AI, but the AI aren't with each other. Yet. Anyways, I get a mission from AI 1 telling me to kill units/structures of AI 2 and vice versa. I can't complete these missions without breaking one, or both, alliances. And, even though there's 5-6 other AI I
Didn't want to take 30-45 minutes to read all the previous posts, so don't know if this has already been said or not. PC Gaming isn't dying, the INDUSTRY for it is, though. More and more PC gamers are deviating away from simply buying a game, but now we're modding, recreating, and tampering with all the files to make our own games. There will be more games, for sure, but less consumers as time goes on. People get stuck on specific games that they spend months and years making mods for.
Yeah, I got one of the 2,000 copies of the Game of the Year Edition (1,647 if I remember right). It came with the Freespace Editor and some other extra stuff, like noteworthy bonus maps and mods. I think making a mod of Freespace wouldn't be too difficult. You've already got three factions, which you could change to Human, Vasudan, and Shivan. Then there's a boatload of ships (ha?) that can be added, plus brand new fighters, superweapons, and bases. The only problem I think you might run into is
I've already made a post in the modding section about a Freespace mod, but I was wondering how many people here actually know or have heard about it. I was looking at those screenshots in the Downloads section and I saw this: First thing I thought was: "Whoa, that looks just like a level in Freespace 2.", but what ships are shooting the blue beams at the Kol, and how many are there? I don't re
Sorry for double-thread. Could someone delete one, please?
When it comes to alliances, it seems like the AI tends to stick together and pushes the human aside. I once had a bounty of 15,000+ because all the AI players had apparently allied together. Then I started getting missions to kill units from each factions, but I couldn't because they'd amassed all their ships on the two planets next to the only remaining one I had. I'd jump units in, and by the time I'd told them to jump out they'd be dead. I didn't even get a chance to attack with them.

If anybody remembers the old games Descent, Freespace and Freespace 2, it'd be sweet to make a mod about those. As soon as I picked this game up, that was the first thing I thought about and a lot of the gameplay concepts are the same. Besides Freespace being a sim and not an RTS. In my opinion though, Freespace 2 was the best space game of it's time, but was largely un-advertised so not many people knew about it. It had great graphics, very well done gameplay, a interesting story and background
