I just triggered an 8 angel battleship spawn in my drake. Add that to the 4 battleships already there, and the dozen or two cruisers. FML Cadalancea [e digicons]:cylon:[/e] "He who lives by the sword shall die by my knife. That's prophecy, if you like" -Caine, Heroes Die

The whole galactic equator thing (and by galactic equator thing, I'm assuming the passing through of it, that's the only one I've ever heard of) doesn't much make sense. We pass through it once every 33 million years or so, and if it caused massive extinctions or whatever else people expect, we could expect to see some seriously massive evidence of such a regular cycle of events in the geological record. Really, the only semi-frightening astronomical thing I can think of is the degradation of

EVE Online has really great music, especially Below the Asteroids . Reminds me of my days thinking I was all that flying my Merlin in Ekura. Gotta love Half-Life2, Episode one and 2 music as well. Especially Abandoned in Place . Partial to Halo 3 music, for sure. Cadalancea [e digicons]:cylon:[/e] "He who liv

[nerd] Wall_of_text:begin Just a quick dip in the 'vs' pool. Halo wouldn't stand a chance. I love Halo and all, but Star Wars is backed by more than 25000 years of galactic civilization. Not to mention a galactic population in the hundreds of quadrillions, if not higher (Consider, Coruscant, the capital of the galaxy, has a planetary population of more than a trillion. And that's conservative. The Yuuzhan Vong war, the most destructive war in galactic history,

Quick, call Mary Shelley! Predicting anything? Not as far as I remember. Yeah, they had their astrological predictions that came out pretty surprisingly true (and some that were waaay off the mark), but for 2012, I'm 99.9% certain it was just the start of a new baktun. Kind of like the end of a millennium. Everything else, like the galactic equator theory, Nibiru, gamma bursts, etc, are all newer additions to it. Y'know, I'd actually be interested in finding out who resurrected the wh

2012 was the funnest movie I've seen this year, until I saw Iron Man 2 last night. The kind of movie where you turn of your brain, sit back with a plate of nachos, and let the explosions wash over you. And for the original topic, that'd be a great TV series. I love the whole rebuilding kind of thing, and the social impacts of it. One of the reasons I Cadalancea [e digicons]:cylon:[/e]

Funny thing is, the whole baktun cycle and the end of the 13th one in 2012...it's sort of a cause for celebration. The Mayans, and by Mayans I mean the ones way back when who first made the calendar, would have loved to have been around for that. It's a rather major thing, sort of like the year 2000 for us. It would've made a great party for them, a definite cause for celebration. Party at the end of the world? Not so much... The mesoamerican long count calendar was pretty much like a

That's a government that doesn't exist.[/quote] I think he was going for an anarchist leaning there, but I'll take it as it should be interpreted. There is literally no government ever invented by man that can be considered 'perfect'. Two reasons for this: 1. The morality of it. Right and wrong are moral constructions that we use in a day to day basis. What we see as right, as good

I've been working on this for a while, with extrapolation based on the given ship crews and the crews of modern navy ships. I decided to add some extra length to account for larger engines, phase cores, armor, etc, which a starship would need, but a naval ship wouldn't. Oh, and I ignored the fact that they'd be all equal lengths, since they're all the same length in game. I took that as a balancing property of the models. Here's what I came up with: Kol, Dunov, Marza,
