The AI doesn't get any smarter after "hard" difficulty. The additional cash at higher difficulties does let them balance their expenditures better (always easier to avoid hard spending decisions when you've got more cash than you can use to begin with), but they're really no more intelligent. Personally, I do speed runs against the unfair AI. Because of the "speed run" aspect, you need to be aggressive against a numerically superior foe, and cannot afford
If im playing multiplayer and the map is big, plus im on a good spot on the map thats jumps away then i think it is possible.
It won't be big enough. Good players can reach you within 30 minutes even on the most ludicrously massive maps, and they'll have spent the time building an economic infrastructure so they can shove a massive amount of units down your throat. While this will still give you more prep time, you won't be able to get a mature f
Is it possible for allies hoskikos or overseers to support my Rapture with vertigo and Prog with Shield regen? Esp in multiplayer
Yes, hoshikos and overseers work very well when supporting allies. This is particularly good against Vasari, who will be largely ignoring your shield-based defenses with phase missiles. The trick with Advent is how to phase into this combo. Three capital ships isn't something you can pull out of your sleeve at the sta
As for GOG with just getting an .exe and that's it, no. Not acceptable. Without achievements and STEAMS community it's not worth to buy the game.
So what's ideal for you is unacceptable for me, and what's ideal for me is unacceptable for you. This is why consumer choice is important. For me, I want no strings attached. I could care less about achievements or social networks. For you, the strings aren't a big deal and the fea
For people who like Steam and don't mind its restrictions, it's been a great service. For people like me who find the restrictions of Steam a deal-killer, it's been a massive headache. I've skipped many games I'd otherwise loved to have played because they're Steam exclusives, and it's only getting worse. Each of us has a different preference and comfort zone with regards to these services, and the underlying problem is that we as consumers aren&#
Probably a little weak now, but definitely a much appreciated change. The uncapped variant was something that would be powerful on a capital ship, and totally inappropriate for a hanger.
I'll take the blunt truth over a sugar-coated maybe or frustrating silence any day.
People are using borders to claim they have a right to do what they are doing completely forgetting about the International copyright laws
What is being demanded by the RIAA and MPAA are far in excess of the requirements of international copyright law. Many of the services and behaviors they reject to are perfectly legal in other countries. The current laws on the books in the United States are much stricter than required under international co
To be fair, you probably won't be able to get a titan while remaining at 0%
Power creep can be fun at times. We've certainly had power creep from capital ships in particular over the course of Sin's lifespan.
If you have more than 4 GB of ram and CPU/GPU models from 4 years ago, you'll probably have no troubles running the game, perhaps even on high settings. For most hardware setups that are anywhere near current, RAM is going to be the bottom line for performance in Sins. For most high-end systems, the game is held back by being a 32-bit application, so a lot of low-end systems can get comparable performance.
The "Holy Trinity" can be used to refer to both the Progenitor(malice)/Rapture(Vengeance)/Radiance(Animosity/CB) combo as well as the Progenitor(shield restore)/Rapture(vertigo)/Halcyon(EAA/TKP) combo, depending on who you talk to. The former went out of favour when malice was nerfed eons ago and it hasn't really been worth the expenditure of three capital ship slots since. It works, but not nearly as well as advertised. Back when malice was uncapped this could pr
In a typical 5v5, Progen is limited to the eco spot. In larger more spacious games you do have some leeway to use it. With the Akkan colonize now a force to be reckoned with, I think the old Progen values are fine. The biggest problem with colony capital ships is that sluggish move speed. Most capital ships have a move speed of 525, which is just faster than LRF at 500. Colony capital ships have a move speed of 475, so the LRF will always eventually clos
Nah. The real threat is pathing.
Just click-spam your way through any obstacles.
Artifact search on Planets must get cheaper or must be changed a little bit
Agreed; planetary exploration is currently only worthwhile for Advent with a large number of planets (due to that nifty discount). One simple approach may be to increase the likelihood of a planetary bonus, and get rid of the chance to uncover high security protocol (such a horrible effect). If there was a greater chance of getting a consolation prize, it might actual
The best way to use vengeance is if the enemy is focusing all their units against a single starbase or capital ship. There's really not much to be said here; the more units are attacking the target, the more damage will be dealt. Keep in mind the advertised amount isn't quite as good as it may seem. The damage reflected by vengeance effectively goes through armor and mitigation twice, so it's greatly reduced. Maxed out you're advertised a 200% damage
First off: was a crime committed? Maybe. He didn't host or distribute any of the illegal distribution himself, so in a direct sense he didn't commit copyright infringement. If the simple act of linking to another site is enough to trigger criminal copyright infringement, then that would be huge liability for just about every service provider on the internet. However, he may have induced or aided copyright infringement either actively or through negligence.&nb
are you saying that they should no longer have channeling abilities?
I think so. The perseverence ability is basically a T6 version of the hoshiko's T3 heal, and it's simply not powerful enough to merit requiring both target facing, a long cooldown, and channeling. Its suppression ability is basically a single-target version of the subverter's area of effect ability. Again, channeling isn't justified here. I think a better
What worries me most is that Titans appear to be enormous capital ship / starbases. The real risk is that they'll be yet another thing that's countered by bombers and only bombers in the late game.
I don't think range increases mean much of anything unless it's LRFs or point defenses...and even then, not real sure if small percentages make any difference...
If you're up against subverters or guardians, this would be invaluable. The range upgrade may not seem like much, but it actually improves target acquisition and focus fire. To be honest, I'd like wave cannons to do something unique. Phase missiles don't increase d
SHIT!!! THAT THING IS BIGGER THEN A PLANET!!!!
Was gunna say bigger than a starbase, but that works too. Looks like this one is code-named "Athena". Wonder if there will be an Ares :-P
will the game finish researching the tier 1 no matter what or will it go to the tier 2 as soon as the 2nd lab is built?
If you queue up the tier 1 before you queue up the tier 2, then yes you will always complete the T1 research first. However, if you queue up a T2 research first and then the T1 research, then the T1 research will be suspended the moment the second lab completes and the T2 research will begin. The T1 research will resume once the T2 comple
Some great points coming up in this thread. Gauss Railgun, Incendiary Shells, Shield Regeneration (Dunov), Clairvoyance and Animosity all need a look at a secondary effect. These abilities simply aren't useful enough as capital ship abilities, and spending valuable skill points on them makes no sense in their current form. I don't think tweaking their raw numbers will bring them into line. Clairvoyance and Animosity have already hit the upper end at which the
Same for queuing up techs for labs under construction. Very convenient.
I wouldn't touch drone hosts early either way. Way too vulnerable to being rushed by light frigates. Advent will always beeline for the second lab level anyways, since the repair platform is such a high priority for their fragile capital ships.
