The thing I like about flak is they can easily shoot multiple targets while moving, and are pretty tough so they can't be fighterswarmed. They don't do much damage though, so you have to back them up, but they are good for keeping masses of light units (fighters, and to a lesser extent LRM's) at bay. The only way they are overpowered I think is because they are really hard to kill. I like them that way, it seems to... fit well.

Just played a game against a guy who was massing carriers then running around the planet with them. Light Frigates OWN carriers so hard. Oh god it was hilarious, he was trying to chase the carriers and my LF's with a bunch of heavies. If he stopped the carriers my heavies would catch up and start destroying them, so he couldn't stop and let his guys catch up and couldn't kill the LF's due to flaks taking out fighters. He ended up losing about 3/4ths of

LRM's are good against LF's, so you want to get LRM's in the beggining. I never really go away from LRM's after that, but I really shouldn shouldn't I, in mid-late game. That would also help with lack of crystal. Humm...

But one guy in a gravity well shouldn't be able to detect every single mine there.

Campaigns. I always treat them as an extended tutorial. They usually ramp up, not letting you research farther then a certain point each map. They teach you tricks, counters, and other such things. I always play at least some of the campaign before starting the multiplayer. And Sins is one of the more complex games out there, and the built in tutorial isn't that... good. So please. A campaign so new players can lear

I don't get why they are visible without scouts, honestly. It seems strange.

Then... how do they... fire at enemy ships when acting as fighters? Or maybe I am missing something here.

Flak to me seems fairly well balanced; they don't do too much damage to anything heavy, but can rip apart light craft and fighters. Build more light frigates to counter them?

So carriers use antimatter to create the fighters, right? And what do you mean they never have any guns? Thanks for the answer by the way.

Now that I have my account working correctly, I want to ask a few questions about Sins in generall. First off, correct me if any of this is wrong: TEC seem to be based on economy, building up a large fleet and pounding the enemy. Vasari seem to be more based on mobility and rapid assaults. Advent seem to be based on abilities and fleet synergy. Is that a fairly good assesment of the factions? Another
