I don't address every word that you write because I agree with some of them. I assure you, I've read all your responses. And I realize that 15 Guardians, an Eradica, and a few Destras was hard to handle, no sarcasm here, that's a tough spot. Futhermore, I think it's a good point to bring up that fact that the Eradica can torch LRMs if it closes on them. Based on the replay, the only thing that I do not agree with you on is that you were out of options. If I wa

Uh-oh sareth, we have to shut up because he doesn't want to hear from us anymore... I wonder if he thinks that strategy works in Sins too? No, Mayall, you don't have to go on, seeing as you "do not care about the replay" and therefore this thread that you made. And if the next section hurts too much, you can save yourself the trouble of making up an excuse that lets you off the hook for losing. I'm not writing it for you, I'm writing it for interested third par
I think the more respectable posts/comments describe LRFs' vulnerability to many other ships and to AoE abilties...so while they have great firepower for focusing on a single target (which honestly makes sense for a long range frigate), they are easy to kill...this relegates them to a mid-game/late-game role of snipers for killing high value targets (caps, SBs)... But it doesn't really matter...LRMs and bombers are the TEC ans
It's a tactic that has been around forever with Advent. It's not abuse, it's strategy for the advent race that is clearly intended by Ironclad. It also takes a fair amount of skill to use effectively. Sorry, no nerf for you.
Thank you. If a strategy beats you, don't assume it's too good - assume that you didn't prepare for it properly. That's the only way to get better. Some non-trolls
Haha, you've "shut down" my whole post because YOU HAVE tried all the counters and nothing works versus repulsion? OK we'll just take your word for it then. Clearly, there's no way that your opponents were better than you, they just abused repulse, that's the only answer. In that case: devs, please nerf repulse so this man can win like he is supposed to...
Mayall, I want to believe that you're not just whining because you lost. I really do! But you make that quite difficult because your main defense against the "build bombers" solution is: "he would have built Halcyons with TKP." Do you see the hypothetical in there? I can't side with you here because you didn't even try to counter. You assumed that your enemies had prepared for that contingency. Your opponents had you beat mentally w
Please don't mistake me for a "Can u plz ad *inset my wizhlist* intoo ur mod???" poster. I cringe when I see those guys. My intention was not to ask for more to be added to the mod but to ask if Cardassian SB model already exists and if the Star Trek universe map that used to be included in the mod is still included in this version. I have since found that the map is not included. Can I download that particular map from somewhere or is it not compatible with Diplo
OUTSTANDING mod SoA team! You guys have done the sins and trek communities a great service with this one. My brother and I are both avid DS9 fans and we ran across this mod a while back in the entrenchment days. Together we played a round and were nerdtastically delighted to find the game turn out exactly as the series. He started at Bajor, I started at Earth, and our coalition slowly pushed back the Cardassians until a massive Dominion fleet came through the wormhole. I can&
Somebody hasn't seen DS9...
If you downloaded the one that said 1.01 it's for vanilla sins. Scroll up to download the one for Diplo 1.32. It's called "0.99 B5" pick full download.
I think I must be using the bug reporter improperly so I'm going to post these issues here. At the moment I am updating to Diplo 1.32/DS Beta 5. I discovered these issues while playing with Diplo 1.31/DS Beta 4 but I have not found any documented solutions in the recent changelog. I am getting a minidump when I try to access the missions window for an allied AI who has offered me a pact. I have loaded the game several times to be sure that that window is exactly what triggers it.
On Saturday I'll be hosting a normal speeds multi-star PVP match-up with some sins friends. We welcome new players for a friendly match. We plan to start the match around 3:00 PM PST. Reply if interested.
Carbon you are a wise man. I also cringe when I hear players pining for Titans. Reminds me of battlecruisers in HW2. The game becomes: "Who can build the most BCs the fastest?!" I can only pray that the devs know what they're doing. They certainly haven't steered us wrong so far. Perhaps they're will be an option to disable Titans.
Am I correct in assuming that the Vasari Phase pact will allow for one ally to ride along a Kostura-induced phase line for a joint invasion?
We use IP instead. Although during that last game we ran into the speed up bug. Did anyone find a solution for that yet?
Hosting another normal speeds DS PvP tonight with 3-4 other players around 8 PST. PM me for an invite.
Hosting a normal speeds PVP game tonight with some friends if anyone is interested. We will probably start around 8:30 PST. PM me for an invite.
JohnJames: correct me if I'm wrong. Are you suggesting I use ICO and create a game with a title like "friend vs." If so, that wont work. Like I said in the OP - I don't use ICO.I'm one of only two on my team that even has ICO. GuitarKid: I PM'd you.
Good, most of you at least understand where I'm coming from. So nice to hear there are a few people out there outside my LAN circle who prefer 1 game per night instead of 5. We also like to play DS because it seems well suited for longer games with its tech tree tweaks. We are all patched to the latest version (checksum: 73571136) and are down to play that as well although we have experienced some minidumps with the most recent version. By "IP setup" I mean that I will PM
Looking for a group of 4 who are interested in some PvP versus my team using IP to connect (instead of ICO.) We use the following settings: -Diplomacy 1.2 -4v4 PvP, bring your team! -Random Huge Multi -Ship speeds fast -All other speeds normal -Pirates inactive We are available for a start time of 8:00 PM PST most nights. We are friendly and interested in learning and expanding our knowledge of advanced tact
If you read my post on the previous page you'll find my checksums are compliant with the OP. I perfer (36951860) but can use the MP patch (71807385) also.
Draak, are you in the same boat as far as the beta? If so I can get my guys to upgrade to beta if that will get you the extra players you need.
Bummer. We use the former as specified in the OP. Actually we use the official patch (36951860) when playing with each other but are MP ready (71807385) to play with others.
