I've noticed that outside of the health bar disappearing bugs that often times health bars don't update and if I don't click on the unit I don't realize that its actually not at 90% health its at 2 health :D

Honestly even without smart colors the selection bugs me a lot. ATM unless Custom Factions are available again we are stuck with default faction colors and of the 8 factions Gilden/Kraxis and Magnar/Altar have almost the exact same border color and that's not taking into consideration wildland borders.

I think production queues are just bugged. I've yet to see any of the percentage bonuses from buildings/units/etc actually affect them so it doesn't surprise that this event doesn't either.

I highly doubt that was the case. They simply had better priorities this time around and it was a fairly pointless sometimes frustrating feature in WoM. The more baggage they drop from WoM the better FE becomes imho
