I personally think the guys here at SD should be cranking out the patches. Civ5 is around the corner, i have been keeping an eye on both this game and Civ5. I was a fan of Sins and Galciv. Just heard news that the FFH stand alone game was canceled and Kael and co. mentioned that they would be picking up civ5 and modding. So who knows there could be another FFH around the corner. Hope Brad and everyone can lock down this game before that happens o

I don't have this issue, Impulse was fairly polite about it's installation. During install a great many programs that think they're the greatest thing since sliced bread want to run every time you start your machine. Now, Rockstar Games Social Club, that's one I need to look into disabling [e digicons]:annoyed:[/e] If you are experiencing issues after you make changes, are you sure you don't have something like Spybot's TeaTimer ru
I really have to say, this is a logical concern. But then again I feel like something is missed out on by not having multiple houses in a block of hut or house. I'd personally love to see several huts, houses, etc per square but I know that the current system isn't set up for anything at all like that. I think a row of homes that would tend to have a lane along it would add aesthetically to an already charming graphic system. I'm sorry, but when I build a palace or a huge marketplac
I did this, and then I like, restarted the campaign thinking something glitched. Apparently I wasn't really paying attention, I guess, to the dialog when I first went north from the second set of footprints and rescued some guy from the burned city. He told me I had to go back to the burned city and bring him a book, and I wasn't doing that. There really should be a different message besides the past the footprints message for those who followed the footprints, but still need to go back and b
League of Legends. I was in the closed beta and never got back into the game until awhile before the release of Elemental. I wasn't expecting the release version of Elemental to be so disappointing, but at least I have something to do until Civ V is released.
I wish that after a city was razed, there would be the rubble and ruins of a city, which could then be built on for less than the original cost of building structures and the like. Right down to Supreme Commander's style of letting you place buildings anywhere in the rubble, but having interface clues as to where the structure was previously placed that could be rebuilt at a reduced cost. While I understand a wooden house can be burned down, a palace made of marble and stone is unlikely to bu
I can understand how easy it is to be offended by constructive criticism and blind to imperfections in a project which you're close to. The Elemental launch wasn't what very many people hoped it would be. It's really a shame, because I can still see the beautiful game which I saw in it when I started Beta 2. I'd like nothing more than to have Stardock and Elemental bounce back from this fiasco. Unfortunately the gaming community isn't exactly the sort of place where "any publicity is go

It's more like ordering an italian sub (ham, salami, pepperoni, lettuce, italian dressing, various other vegetables), but instead you get a salad with italian dressing, some cold cuts, and a couple breadsticks. And then your friend, an accomplished modder - I mean, cook - leans over and points out that if you pile some o
Also when a unit tries to pathfind over a particularly long distance, such as from your first town in the campaign up to the town where you start harvesting crystal, it acts like you're selecting impassable terrain (it doesn't move at all).
Well I'll put it like this, it was about the time they added the Wars and the Magics that I stopped having any interest in playing the beta.
Yes, yes, and yes. The combat system is my #1 as well, and not just the system itself, but also the tactical combat engine. Fundamental changes need to be made to make tactical combat fun, rather than an excercise in making sure the auto-resolve doesn't kill
It might have been better for the book and the game if Brad had hired a ghost writer for the book and focused on the game exclusively. Eventually the AI should improve, although the quality of Destiny's Embers is now pretty much set in stone.
I think the devs abandoned this forum.
Then you clearly haven't tried to embrace the old adage "read more, post less".
I felt the same way while it was still shiny and new, but now that I've played for a while I've concluded the game itself is actually quite bad. The engine is amazing, the potential is there, but currently the actual game design, mechanics, balance and AI are all quite bad and shallow. I do really want this game to be a success and end up as a classic of the genre, which is why I'm still on these forums. I guess we'll see what they can do&
To be fair, while the game can be patched and worked on the coming year, The book will be set with the level of quality it comes with.
Are you kidding, with lines like "Yes, she had been wearing dresses those last few months at the Keep, but this was different. This was a gown. This was silk or something." How can you doubt this book becoming an instant classic? I can't believe I was actually interested in picking that up at some point.
Whilst not wishing to derail this thread, this quote from the book given in the unamommer review, He yanked the sword out of the first one’s throat and swung it at a second , the nearest one to him , gouging it in the shoulder , and the thing screamed , and slashed at Calis’s blade ineffectually , and Calis slashed again
Threads like this, with the quick dev response to a question that many developers would either shrug off or ignore (by locking the thread and any like it), is why I still have some faith in Elemental and Stardock. I just won't ever purchase another Stardock game until I read the review, a policy that very few games or developers warrant exception of. Even titles that, by all rights, should have shipped without issue like GTA IV (AAA title, RockStar having plenty of a budget to port the game f
While it's nice to know that those who feel they want a refund won't be hassled, I'd like to think that a lot of people are able to wait until everything they feel is wrong with the game is addressed. Then again, for those living paycheck to paycheck, a night at the movies this weekend may well be worth buying the game again when Book II is released.
Personally if I were going to shut out all thoughts of Elemental for the time being, I'd wait until they released Book III, and see what sort of reviews it gets. The critical acclaim (or lack thereof) should speak volumes about whether or not Stardock lived up to their commitment to making Elemental the gem that some of us feel it should have been at release.
I seem to recall Brad stating at some point they already had a two year plan mapped out. I'd say a five year plan would be better, but I suspect this is the wrong game for that.
I don't know, I think this game will be getting a lot of love five years from now. Stardock is really just saying that, for the first year where they were planning on releasing book II and it's seagoing adventures as a for pay expansion, they'll now be releasing it
There seems to be an issue that's causing crashes on all brands of video cards and processors, although who knows, maybe it will trace back to something with SSE2 extensions and your research will prove invaluable.
What I want is a review of the campaign that comes with the book.

I have not had one single memory leak since gold let alone 1.06.. I am running on windows xp 4 gigs ram (even though silly pc only uses 3.5ish), athalon 64 x2 6000+ cpu, mn2-e mb and geforce9800 gtx plus.. I do not really see any significant performance issues wtih tons of monsters/npc's on the map.. but again others are so I think
It's not just normal, it seems to happen to a large percentage of the player base, and it has been doing so since the early Betas.
