First multiplayer game today finally. It was ok, but not the best, though that may have to do with the group I chose, and my playstyle (for that specific match). I wanted a simple game, so I chose a group called something like "noob game here" or something. Throughout the game, people were rage-quitting, and (as everyone complains about here) didn't give any resources to any of us to help us. We had a VR who wouldnt communicate, actually we had 2 of them. Bot

New TEC-L and AR Strategy: AR Colonize Planet AR build Temple of Communion TEC-L Sends Envoy Cruiser with Settlers TEC-L RB-Guards all the incoming phase lanes. Wait... When the enemy is coming to attack you: Once they can't cancel their jump orders into your gravity well, fire Wail. Then depending on what is left jumping into your gravity well, RB it.

XATHOS, I wasn't going to use a program, I was going to build it into the Editor's Deployment System. The .NET API I was going to use (SharpCompress, which is hosted here ), only supports compression in zip, and tar archives, but with many different compression formats for each.

I've been wondering this since Beta 2: Could a Vasari allied with an Advent Rebel put an Orky at the Advent's planet with Colony Pods and power up Wail by doing so?

Red Button can take out capital ships. The main use of Red Button now is to guard incoming phase lanes. Once the whole fleet is in range, Red Button right away. If you don't attack the invaders, their Shield Mitigation is low, and Red Button can blow up everything.

Thanks. I'll see if I can find a 7zip (or rar) compression library. Right now the library I'm looking at only supports decompression for 7zip and rar.

Hey Modders! I decided instead of making a VS Addin (Their Integration SDK is a pain...), just to make my own editor. In the "deployment" system, it will archive everything for distribution. What archive format would you guys like the most? The API I'm using allows writing for Zip and Tar archives, so those are your choices. (Sorry, writing to 7-Zip isn't supported, but reading is).

Vasari was a Renaissance painter, writer, historian, and architect. Here's the wikipedia page (and yes, he actually does exist. He was in my freshman World History textbook.) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giorgio_Vasari
Only problem with ConvertData, its Sins specific, actually expansion specific as well. ConvertData wouldn't just fail, it would epically fail. Maybe if we were to open it in a hex editor and translate the hex byte by byte (which by

Does it leave some sort of indicator around that block that it was written by a human and not made by the compiler itself? Surely they're running some optimizations when they're compiling the code so ordinary code is going to get obliterated and replaced by the magic workin

I have my own experiences with FFA with AIs. I'll ally with everyone, but they wont ally with each other. I pretty much end up deciding which ally to turn on and then go crush them, and repeat the process until the game is done. That 1:30 delay after breaking a peace treaty is great for getting your fleet set up to just blast your former ally to oblivion.

To quote Volt about this from another thread.
2. Yes you can. It's near the top of the Gameplay.constants file.
Its the maxNumberOfCannonsPerPlayer modifier that controls the superweapon limit.

Thats what I said might be the problem. I think it has something to do with one of your abilities NOT creating mines. When you get an assert error, the error it gives is what it should be, not what it is.

Warning: The following is just a complete guess based off the file name and the error message. I might be completely wrong, but I'm still taking a crack at it. It looks like some build tech you have is required to be a tech that builds mines. Or the AI is trying to use one of your techs as a tech that builds mines and the system is warning you. Not sure which of those, if either one, is correct. Is there an
