Stargate Universe was decent, for example, although barely. The problem is that the overall quality of entertainment products available today is very low and it is maintained ssuch because this helps the market through a continuous renewal of offer based on the quick boredom produced by such inadequate forms of "artistic" (the term media celarly shows there is no art involved) expression. Essentially, a consequence of the decadence of our culture.

Oh but I did. That's why I say so. I forgot, in between the characteristics, that the show introduces some public scenes of sex (like Spartacus and others before it) to give an atmosphere of "fantasy" debauchery. What sadness.

It's funny the horrible stuff people can digest. Battlestar Galactica and this... Scary mindless stuff. No plot. No acting. No characterization. Nothing except the same cheap story told over and over again.

And windowed playing prevents it, as well as preventing minidump. Good suggestion.

Elrosh is right. Aside from what he says, corvette usefulness rests in their current characteristics, except supply allowance. If you nerf the ship, it's support role and interdiction role will be compromised. Better nerf the supply cost, to make them just a 33% less abundant, and thus making them cause less lag. A mixed corvette/defender or corvette/flak fleet, kills a corvette fleet. This is another counter to mention.

I played two games since the update: one was lagged as hell, the other minidumped at minute 2. Not much more to say.

Well, what strikes in that video, is that green sees multiple frigate factories and a 6x spam used against his buddy, but despite having lots of money doesn't even imitate it. Suggestion would be, imitate those who beat you, in game and in later games. Especially, reverse engineer their tactics and strats, and devise your own based on thinking on game mechanics. This is true for all pc games in truth.

Corvettes are nice-ish as they are. We just need less of them. As such I strongly advise towards raising their supply cost, or anything with parallel or better effects.

Quick reading often leads to mistaken interpretations, my fault. Anyway, what you state means that you get 8 more income merely based on culture and induced reverence. For a planet with a base income of 20. But on Faster an upgraded Terran is not 20, but sensibly more. Given that upgrading Terran habitability is always one of the first things to do, as it costs little and improves your income stably, I guess the number you propose should be recalculated. Besides, the increase

You are mistaken: the Advent has technologies to improve allegiance, and there's culture bonus as well. 140% is what I get from capital with two reverence upgrades. On faster incomes it repays the investment in a pair of minutes, and you can build a trade module too. Consider that Capital has a bonus to income as well. This upgrade is not to be built in a frontline world: that's why it has to be used carefully. And yet trade ports cannot be built on the frontier carele

With Loyalist Advent all the mines your opponents build are a gift to you: they become your mines in their gravwells. Easier than disabling options.

I am certain that colony pods doesn't work but in very long games, but induced reverence surely has a strong impact. With a maximum 140% allegiance in capital planet, it makes your capital a money factory. Though I applaud the initiative of calculating these effects.

17 Replies 19,963 Views

That is not quite terrible, I am afraid. Especially with advent carriers.

Timed explosives: I used it to kill planetary shields in a long three way game where I had been cornered but I had managed to turtle in a very strong position, allowing my five novaliths to wreak havoc on enemy planets. Martyrdom could work the same way. Culture techs are great for space interdiction. Induced reverence is actually the Advent way to econ boost, if used on terran planets. Colony pods can give you 4 credits per second per starbase if I am not mist

But are superweapons really so overpowered? I recently had an Advent vs. TEC faceoff, at the end of a long 8 player FFA. Newcomers like those, as FFA is an inherently slower game, although in truth when there are skilled players or just decent ones, they'll rush nonetheless in many occasions. Well, the TEC guy and I emerged sole survivors, both with a sizeable empire and strong economy. He attacked thrice with his full fleet, and thrice the Advent superiority repelled him. After t
