The argument as I see it is the following: Man and woman have consentual sex. Male Choice: 1, Female Choice: 1 Both sides are equally responsible in this matter, there's no blame to be assigned here. Woman decides to terminate pregnancy. Male Choice: 0, Female Choice: 1 The guy has no say in this, even if he wants to raise the baby. I know there's the argument of it's the woman's body etc. Woman decides she wants

Every time things in life seem to be going poorly, there's always some annoying friend who has an unnaturally up-beat attitude about life and feels the need to force it on all the poor unfortunate grumpy people around them. They'll offer helpful comments like "Well, it's not so bad, you could have " or "It'll get better sooner or later"/"Good things come to those who wait" It's like listening to a modified version of your parents when they tried to instill virtue

I am a computer geek. I have been tinkering with computers for as long as I can remember, and started building systems completely from scratch about 4 or 5 years ago. My PC was a hand-crafted labor of love, constantly upgrading bits and pieces every few years to keep it bleeding edge and performing well. This probably cost me $6000 total over the past 4 years (from initial build to today). This past weekend, my power supply blew, taking the motherboard, RAM and CPU with it, as

Once the euphoria of actually having made it through college has passed and you've received that little piece of paper certifying that you are a smart person, the reality of life begins to set in. The main question most people seem to be facing at this point is "What am I going to do with the rest of my life" and another of more immediate concern "Where am I going to find a job?" For me, I'm currently ignoring the first question as it seems too soon to try and figure something that major out a

Well, another year has come and gone, and with it's end, a lot has changed for me. Just a few days ago I graduated from college, bringing to a close almost 17 years of schooling, and now I'm on the brink of what quite literally is the rest of my life. This is such a profound change in direction and operation that it's hard for me to really wrap my head around. It's frightening and exciting, joyous and depressing. With that in mind, there are a few things I'm hoping to see happen in 2004...<B

The following paragraph is a direct paste from the front page: 1) In the next couple of days we will be sending emails to those who purchased GalCiv or Drengin.net and ask them if they want the CD sent to them. People who had joined the beta will be able to download the game via Stardock Central but they can also have the CD sent to them. The cost of having the CDs sent will cost $5 to $10 depending on where you live. Now, I participated in beta (purchased December 4th) an

The QTT review has stirred up quite a fuss on the IGMoo and OSMoo boards (as well as in the official chat room, and any other place MoO people gather), and the response is that of religious zealots, lashing out (violently at times) against anything that dares besmirch the reputation of the game. People attack the review saying he clearly didn't play the game or that he's smoking crack for daring to say anything negative about the coming of the christ in computer game form. While I find his rev

I was able to hoard some money, and then buy all of the opposing races planets (including their home one) away from them. For about 5000 I could purchase just about all the planets of a race that was neutral or better towards me. This doesn't seem quite right. They shouldn't be willing to sell themselves out of the galaxy. How are they supposed to use the money if they don't exist? -Z

The reason for the shift from the turn-based move-every-ship-3-spaces-fire-beam-move-2-fire-missile to the real time system is in the interest of game pacing, and multiplayer games. I remember in late-game MoO2 battles where both sides would have ENORMOUS fleets, and even if you set it to auto-battle, it could take up to an hour to resolve. This kills game pacing and makes a reasonable multiplayer game completely impossible. Also, with MoO3 combat, it's not an RTS like Hegemonia where
