I find them quite effective early game (on smaller maps) to send them out where you think your enemy homeworld is and cripple their early game constructors. Seems ridiculously effective!

I already have, but by default it should be changed to make it nicer for newcomers.

Ok, so skimming through this, I find it hard to believe no one decided to bring up the actual usable range of these chips. The idea of someone using a chip this size to "track" you is just plain ludicrous. I researched RFID tracking for a paper I wrote a couple years ago. The effective range of the "chip" is very small. We're talking in the feet range... no that's not tens of feet range. That effective range is further based upon the size of the chips anten
I apologize a head of time, I read the first half of that and mainly skimmed the rest. But education is something the players can take into their own hands, anyone of us could open up a youtube channel and perhaps make educational videos on how to play SINS I have thought about it and I want to do it I just don't have the technological know-how. But it has crossed my mind, we need to help newer players find an understanding for the game. </
I know this is a little off, but looking through those extensions, almost all except maybe one, have been ported over to Chrome. I was an avid Firefox user years ago. They released version 3 that was sooo laggy when it first released I couldn't stand it. Then I tried out Chrome at about version 6 and never looked back. I had to use Firefox on a clients machine the other day and I can't believe how slow it feels coming from Chrome. I'd at least try chrome before trying to t
Me and a buddy desynced just the other night... weird, seeing as it hasn't happened for quite some time. He watched his colony ship blow up a good 30 seconds before I saw my ships put in the final volley of missiles... There were 3 or 4 other games on ICO at the time, maybe it was just under load or something. Granted, that's not a horrible desync but one nonetheless.
The thing with team 10: you were most likely in the lobby of a 5v5 match. Online etiquette is that everyone goes to team 10 until team captains are decided, and then the team captains go to some other team (like team 1 and team 9), pick players, and then the other players switch from their team 10 to the team of the captain which picks them.
Perhaps. I used to play day of defeat and they did similar picking schemes. Th

Actaully, thinking about it, it's not even hard to make it so new comers can prove they are new and not smurfs. Where we have the button that brings up the player's game win/loss stats, if they have multiple names (which may imply smurfing) just have a button that links to the stats for the other player names associated with that account. This would at minimum give people like me a way to prove we are new to the game.
Smurfing. It's ugly, no one likes it, that's a fact. But there are worse things; and things that could really hurt Rebellions launch, especially trying to get online matches to be a major part of it. Today was going to be maybe my 5th ICO match. I logged in and was waiting ready to go, then something struck me as odd, all the teams quickly switched to team 10 and there was me and some other (I assume new player but idk) stuck on team 2 and team 5. I asked "what are we all goin
I still see the 5 second or so freeze (sporadic) when I complete a mission for AI even after hotfix. This freeze didn't exist pre-1.3. My guess is maybe the game is re-calculating possible missions after a mission is completed and that causes a delay?
I thought it was just me, only happened fairly late in the game for me though. That was a medium random map and only 5 ai's. It's rather a
Thanks Pbhead! Glad it's not just me. Also, is there a place to check out if the servers are up? World of Tanks launcher has a icon for when the servers go down. Does Ironclad have a server up down thread around here somewhere I missed?
Not that I can help, but I too am having similar issues. I just bought Trinity today (nice deal btw) and went to setup an ICO account from diplomacy. Same issue as you with the "Disconnected from ironclad servers" Did the standard stuff to check firewalls and the router. Nothing should be stopping it from going through, all the settings in the firewall are set to allow it (even turned it off just to make sure). Decided to try it in the vanilla sins, works just fine. Moved on to entrenchment,
I had my buddy check, same version and his Kol is intact... I have it set to the highest settings perhaps it's due to that... I cant recall anything similar when I played on lower settings. Just thought if the kol was in Rebellion it should have that fixed.
Hello, I apologize if this is the wrong area but it seemed the most appropriate. In diplomacy, fully updated, the Kol Battleship has a missing face on it's mesh. I've placed a link here to a screen shot of it, it's clearly missing the face on the top left hand armoured panel. http://cid-42700c6a7fa39464.office.live.com/self.aspx/Public/missingface.png
