What if Superweapons just had a credit upkeep cost or required some fleet supply? That way massing them means a a permanent hit to economy or fleet size that becomes more significant the more of them are massed. Heck, with those sorts of drawbacks, the cost of building a superweapon or research tier could be reduced, making superweapons in general less of a niche tool for one faction and more of something many factions may consider buying one of.

meh, It's a beta you need to preorder for for a game which half of the c ommunity are dedicated single-player gamers. I'm not particularly surprised the servers aren't packed. Especially considering only 1 of the 3 factions are currently playable(I can tell you I'm completely disinterested in playing TEC). I suppose no one really knows for sure, as vasari haven't been added yet, but frankly in diplomacy phase missiles are one of the mroe unbalanced aspects of the current metagame atm. Where most weapon upgrades go up to 30-40%, phase missiles are at a staggering 80% or so against shield mitigation capped cap ships and that doesn't even take into account overseers or the fact that phase missiles penetrate shield HP as well as the mitigation. Add AA to all the battleships. Then maybe the ones other then vasari one will actually get used.
