If you are using SDC build47 it should be ok to use both sections again. The bug has finally been fixed. Brian

Hi there, Thought i better chip in here. After weeks now of trying to figure out what causes this i have finally managed to find it and fix the problem... i think The problem relates to when you use both the skins/themes and the discussion sections within sdc. When both try and update at the same time, they currupt each others files when writing data. There should be an update to fix the p
SDC does prompt you after the update is complete about rebooting. Brian
IconPackager changes the default Windows XP Start Menu no problems, its the old Classic style for which the icons cannot be changed. Brian
Thats why its currently in beta release as its not perfect yet. Try uninstalling your current version, and remove everything from the \wcbrowser directory, then reinstalling the latest version from Stardock Central. Brian
The bug your mentioning is actually a bug with existing installs where the shortpath has been set in the registry and wcb doesnt like that. Simply uninstalling and reinstalling through sdc as suggested will fix this.
The newest additions and updated skins list is now maintained slightly different so all new skins get shown, and not just a basic list of 10 or 15 like the site does. Use the Check for Skin Updates on the tools menu to do a manual check and if there are any new skins they will get added. Brian
Are you using ObjectBar? try unloading that and see if it makes any difference. We have recently found that to cause problems with the menus on startup.
How exactly are you trying to install? what is the exact error message you get? Is it the same file each time? Are you using Stardock Central? Brian
Glad you got it sorted. You would be totally surprised at home many people make such a simple mistake Brian
Make sure you have your wincustomize serial number entered within Stardock Central otherwise no updates will be displayed. To check this goto the Tools menu > Register Products > and select the WinCustomize tab. Brian
The WinCustomize Browser isnt designed to auto download files within its que. Brian
Hi there, The are currently 2 problems with GalCiv and trying to install it through SDC. To install the game normally (not archiving it) go into the SDC settings and untick the option to "Prompt to enter an installation directory" under the Installation heading. This option is what is causing SDC to crash. Select OK and go ahead and install the game as normally and everything should now be fine. The second problem is the archiving option, do not use this option at all as the archving na

Meyend, what version did you install? Is it just the actual tray icon thats not showing up or something? GhoS, make sure you have the menu set to shown in the settings. There are options in there to hide the sections you dont want. Brian
Thanks for your comments White_moth, glad your back up and going The site updates should now also be updating again. Brian
Excellent stuff, now i just need to find out why its crashing :( Brian
You shouldnt have any problems installing freestuff now with last nights update now (build 26). Brian
If you are having problems loading up SDC on startup, try deleting all files from within your Discussion directory at C:\Program Files\Stardock\SDCentral\Discussion Then try reloading the program. Brian ~SDC~

In time the WCBrowser list and the WCTray list will be the same. You could also set the icon to hide when inactive if you wanted so its not always visible. If an update is found, the icon gets shown again. Brian
Please try again.
You need to wait for it to update the discussions which happens every 10minutes (or whatever you have it set to in the Discussion settings). Brian
CredendoVides, please check your serial number has been entered and is correct within the Register Products dialog on the Tools menu. Drooling Iguana, has your serial number ever worked? you can find your account information within the Register Products dialog on the Tools menu. Select the Drengin.net tab and ensure your Drengin.net subscription serial number, or your GalCiv serial number (if you have purchased the program separatly) is there and is correct. Brian
