LightStar
Well, after purchasing and installing Windows Vista Ultimate on dual-boot, I must say that I am not impressed at all. I really hate transparency and find it useless. I really hate seeing text and objects behind my other open windows. Sure it is pretty, but ease of use and functionality in any OS should take priority over pretty, and if you can combine both worlds, like you can in Windows XP, even the better! The whole look and feel of Windows Vista is completely useless to me, who really needs i
Maybe no one is awake out there yet?
LightStar; Nice Desktop. Thanks!
Wow.. hell of a start menu Lightstar !! Well, you should since it was your concept initially!
Well, I would lgspence, but I am a bit confused as there is no SysMetrix skin even shown in the screenshot.
My desktop, hmmmmm.... [ Click for 1680 x 1050 Image ]
You will see only the best from the MaxStyles team! There are several wallpapers also for this excellent skin: https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?skinid=33767&libid=8 https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?skinid=33764&libid=8 With more to come I'm sure!
Style XP does NOT replace the UXTHEME.DLL file or any other files on your system, it merely patches it in memory as Chubs39 said. I use both Style XP and Windowblinds on my system, and they work fine if you know what to do. Always disable Style XP before applying a Windowblinds skin, and always unload Windowblinds before applying a skin with Style XP and you should be fine. I did notice though a few graphics problems, specifically buttons in some windows if you have both Style XP and Windowbl
Tree view and the apply button are a godsend What apply button? No button here at all.
I have the problem here too with PaintShop Pro, but version 11. I set it to be used in the preferences, but SKS 6 seems to forget the setting after closing and reopening. Also, once I do set it, whenever I try to open an image, PaintShop Pro 11 opens, but then closes by itself. Big problem for sure.
Vewy intewesting Michael!
One other thing, why does it seem impossible to change the Active and Inactive titlebar text colors in SKS 6, and in SKS 5 for that matter? I set them in the Edit Colors area, but they refuse to change.
Seems to be a problem in the taskbar buttons area, on the horizontals, the states listed in the Help tab and on the pulldowns for changing text values are Normal, Pressed, Disabled, Highlighted, Activated and Activated & Highlighted. On the verticals it is listed as Normal, Pressed, Disabled, Mouse Over and Focus & Default. The vertical mouse over state does not change no matter what you do either. Probably just an oversight, but the vertical states should be exactly the same as the horizonta
Amazing work Michael! I love it!
The mouseover colour not being used when you use a startmenu item mouseover bitmap is an unfortunate limitation of that feature. It is unlikely this will change on XP in the future. Thanks Neil, for some reason after I rebooted the problem with the MO text remaining as Luna went away, go figure!
Uhhhm, OK, is that going to be fixed for XP at some point then Neil? The mouseover text color on the Start Menu issue?
Thank you Z71! That solved some of my problems, I really appreciate it.
Also, why does it now take 4-6 steps in SKS 6 now what you could do in 2-4 steps in SKS 5? Having to close the window on the area you are working on before you can apply skin changes is very annoying. Then when you find a few more minor changes need to be made in the area you were working on, you have to open the area again and select the item you were working on to make the changes. It is a vicious cycle, and very upsetting to an experienced skinner. SKS 6 may be great for newbies/beginners,
The font import when you browse for it does not work, when you select the font in explorer, it does not accept the selection, you cannot bring the font in. Also, I can find no place to change the mouseover highlight color on the start menu, nor the mousoever text color on the start menu. I thought I had found it, but it does not work.
Way to go Stardock! I am definitely going to try this out today!
A well deserved interview, with a super skinner (and good friend)! Sexy WB is gonna knock the socks off anything out there, even his own Vienna and Odyssey! Go John!
Excellent choices and excellent work!
John! This is sweeeeeeeeeeettttttttttttttt!
I cannot believe anyone would bother to RIP a logon screen myself? Might indicate the intelligence of the Ripper?
